Dib's!

The greatest news in Cleveland sandwich history has been unleashed!. Dibella's Submarines is opening in Cleveland, rumored to be tomorrow. This is exciting. It almost makes me believe them when oh, say 4 or 5 years ago in rochester they said they were franchising and would be spreading out the country. I think its good that they seem to have expanded to PGH, Ann Arbor and then here, given that there were other options.

It makes me happy, and almost makes me ignore that wegs doesn't seem to have any urge to expand out here, and is in certain places other people have moved, like Virginia. We shall ignore of course that wegs sells dib's subs, because they really aren't exactly the same, (frozen dough baked daily vs fresh dough baked, a lack of corned beef, and a lack of horseradish being primary issues). Anyway, I'm super excited - and for those of you that know how often i ate/craved Dib's in college, you'll understand. Besides, then I won't need to ask people to bring me subs when they visit. They can bring Nick Tahou's instead.

Passover

So its that time of year again. Where stuff is interesting. For one, you can get coke made with actual sugar, if you know where to look, and generally its not even that expensive for all that authentic coke goodness.

Two, umm, I'm really just blogging because I'm a slacker, and don't want to wait too long, unfortunately, I don't have much to say.

Its the weekend, I need to take off my snow tires, of course it snowed the end of april last year, so I'm a bit gun shy, but it has hit 70 for at least a few days in a row - can't hurt to leave them on for another week I say - besides, I feel obligated to give the car a good spring cleaning when I take the tires off, so if I postpone that, I postpone both things, definetly an unexpected benefit.

Memorial day is approaching slowly but steadily. I think the thought is to do something fun over the weekend, travel maybe. Discussion has included the mall of america, as well as a few other places. I'm open to suggestions.

Oh, one of my monitors died. Oddly, the newer of the two. I guess some monitors can last almost 8 years. Since the mini can only use one monitor anyway, I was sorta figuring I'd wait a year or so until newer Intel minis came out, and then get a flat panel. I hope this monitor continues to work, since otherwise that whole plan will get a big kibosh. It just seems odd to spend much on a monitor for a $500 computer, and I'd really like at least a 19" to match the resolution I have now, so that's around $200. I figure if I just wait, prices will come down, and if nothing crazy like the switch from CRTs to flat panels occurs, there won't be a reason to buy a newer super expensive monitor. OLEDs I'm ignoring, but I'll probably look back at this post in a few years and realize I was wrong, life does that some times. Oh well. Must get to weekend relaxing.

Cornucopia of phones

So with the advent of my previous discussion (can you advent a discussion? Eh, whatever) so with the previous discussion on cell phones behind me, I thought I had pretty well decided what to do. But a discussion with TOWM about Verizon's razr confused me. I didn't realize why he thought it had odd controls, until someone at work got one and I saw a vzw one firsthand. They're missing a button! There isn't a contextual (right click style) button between the two soft keys on that version. Its like a totally different experience. Odd, really.

Its jen's birthday. Happy birthday to jen, happy birthday to jen, happy birthday to jen.

Out to dinner for a quick celebration (the real birthday dinner will be this weekend, when loss of time from daylight savings and 6am alarm clocks don't exist).

Btw, for whatever odd reason, if you happen to be in town, make sure you call me, or i have you cell phone number, so I'm not trying to call your hotel to find you and wondering what's up. Just you know, hypothetically.
