In honor of it being wednesday I suppose I should find something interesting to say. Really all I have is an advertisement for think geek. Of course lately evertime i put a link in, I manage to mess it up, but oh well. So besides having a cool name, this just seems like a cool idea: power squid. I wonder if I can do it correctly this time. Of course I find the squid after I gave up on trying to sort out the cable mess under my desk, and bought a 12 outlet power strip, which seems to be doing the job. But if any of you have power squid needs, maybe you can use it.
Oh well. I need to mail in my various apple rebates for ipod batteries and oddball power supplies that break. I figure with the $70 or so of gift certificates that will get me, I can buy something. What, I have no idea. But its not a bad theory and its not much effort to get them. Assuming I can find the paperwork. I think there's a website option as well which may work better.
So here's an interesting dilemma. For those of you that don't know, my car recommends premium (why you'd buy a new car and then decrease its performance for $2 a week i dono, but you can run it on regular) anyway. BP is having a contest, where if you buy 8 gallons of premium, you get a scratch ticket to attempt to win sometime. My issue is I only get gas once a week, which is usually 12-13 gallons. If I got gas more often, I could get more tickets, but gas prices being the annoingly flucating things that they are this could of course cost more - since i usually try to buy on the cheapest day. Such a dilemma.
I haven't altered my pattern yet, but do keep thinking about it. The contest ends august 2nd, so maybe I'll give it a try.
so i'm tired, even though i got up at an approximately acceptable time. Go figure. I will most likely get suite (not sweet, though i supppose they are) tickets as a work 'outing' to a lake county captains game tonight. Maybe I'll get too. In any case it should be fun, but might make for a late evening since I think it
Happy solstice btw. If you live near a chipotle, you can get a burrito today and then bring your reciept back by the 25th or something for anotther burrito. Mmm, free summer burrito.
Ok, enough about burritos, since those of you that don't leave near a chipotle are probably annoyed anyway (feel free to move, there's about 10 of them around here). Enough to keep me satisfied regardless of where i am. at least wherever i am in north east ohio.
Well, I like the shoes, but they're still taking some getting used to, especially the whole not wearing socks thing. I kinda expected them to be even more breathable then they are, but they're still pretty ventilation friendly. beyond that they work well. I think i'll have to see long term if they're better for working out then a normal pair, but they are definetly more flexible and lighter.
in other car color news, aparently blue is important for the 2008s i guess i beat the trend with blue for a 2002 and a 2005, we'll have to see how that goes in the future i suppose.
you know you're old when you have not much to say besides complaining about the weather again. Fortunately, home depot had an A/C filter, so we could plug in the one downstairs and cool off the entire house. Previously we were only using the upstairs ones, so it was kinda like hiding from the heat and trying to avoid going downstairs. Of course it would be better if the weather wasn't above 90, but i suppose that might be too much to ask.
Regardless of the weather, summer seems to be progressing nicely. In honor of summer, and because i needed new sneakers i bought a pair of nike free or maybe they're frees. whatever. they're pretty nice. i got gray and blue ones, which weren't my first choice but I didn't really feel like shopping around more, and the color works. I had looked elsewhere and they only had some really bad color combinations, so blue is ok. Other then that they're compfy and nice. I'll see how they work at the gym tonight, but after a weekend of just wearing them i think it should work out well. Of course I'm not sure if they're only going to be summer shoes or not, but i figure i'll deal with that when the weather gets cold.
it seems whenever things get going well, something happens to slow things down. I was driving back from work yesterday after working out, at about 5:30, only to find that due to an accident the entire westbound lanes of I-90 were closed. Oh well. I was only delayed by like 10 minutes because I don't actually need to use them, but all the people detouring got in the way.
What else? I'm not sure. We have dinner at parker's restaurant tonight. its a special 5 or 6 course vegeterian thing, which is cool, because I rarely get prix fixe menus since i can't eat half the stuff on them. Barring any issues with Squish, I should be pretty good, and it can't hurt that its way cheaper then a menu that might have had expensive meat on it.
speaking of expensive meat, we might be buying a new fridge, this one seems to be having thermostat issues, depending on its mood it is either 20 degrees or 50 degrees. not so good for the lettuce, but once you touch the thermostat, it swings in the other direction, there's no happy medium. I'm hoping that fixes itself sometime in the near future, but its old and such so if it needs to be replaced so be it.
Anyway, I'm actually still running on time, so I should probably go now, while I can. Since I'll probably get stuck in traffic anyway with my general luck.
so after my first official time off for vacation (you may remember I didn't get any until 2005, and I just haven't used it yet, ) which allowed for the 5 day weekend, I'm still tired from all the running around. On the upside though, after getting a lot done, its good to be productive.
Of course its also good its a short week so the weekend is in sight again.
in other exciting news, i'm tired.
in other exciting news, i'd just like to reiterate that its a giant pain in the neck that when you want to change something on a 100 year old house, it always seems that the project isn't simple because the cutout isn't the standard size, or something changed or got in the way, or its just a pain because its more fun that way, and then nothing can get done.
oh well. with jen taking more hebrew classes for the next few weeks i can catch up on projects i was meaning to do, like more painting, i suppose this is a good thing, but of course i have a haircut today, so that kills a productive hour or so. i suppose that's how life is around here.
