Happy Thanksgiving

I know its a day early, but due to flight arrangements being really early tomorrow morning, it will just have to work.

In other news, its cold here, rumored to snow on Thursday. I'm not sure if I'm psychologically ready for it. I already bought and installed snow tires, but I'd really like it to not freeze me every morning, especially when showering. Perhaps I need to find a better way to heat the bathroom. Oh well, time to get going. Hope everyone has a good week, and then does all of their super exciting shopping on Friday.

Fun weekend

So TOWM and Anne came over for sat-sun. It was fun, we didn't do anything interesting, though we did see the new woodie harrelson/pierce brosnan movie. THat worked out well.

Besides that, its cold. Which is not a big deal either, but I just figured I'd complain about it.

Today's band, so its another long day. I'm not sure its a good sign that when I'm waking up, I'm forwarding 16 hours and trying to go back to sleep. I'll just claim that's normal, and everyone hates mondays. It was good to have the day off on Friday though - I called in sick, since I have this stupid cold that's been annoying for the last like 2 weeks. It is slowly getting better though.

Oh well, time to get going, anothetr Monday awaits.

Midweekitude

Yeah, the spam is more like 10 or 20 messages at a time - though it has been cutback a lot due to the blacklist, so that's at least a benefit.

When I have some time I'll work on upgrading to MT 3.0 I do have some issues with their new method of well, its not quite just free anymore, but I think I can work around that, as I don't have lots of authors or anything else. Doesn't bode well for the future though.

In other news, there isn't much. There's been a few interesting car items this week. As I stopped to get coffee on Monday (you may recall this... or look down 2" and you'll see it) the probably 60 something cashier of the donut place bothered to point out to me after some other guy asked me about the car (odd its happened now, but hey, hey lives in a bubble) that it was only a four cylinder. And she doesn't like four cylinder cars, she likes 6. Well ok then. I tried to point out 170 HP is more then most 6 cylinders (especially of the probably late 80's american car she drives) but it wasn't worth it. I'll just assume she actually drives a porsche, and thus its one of those 300hp 6 cylinders. She secretly drag races down Brookpark at night.

Umm, that's about it. I'm in a bit of a rut on parking for band on mondays. It seems I can never find a spot that isn't by a hydrant. Which would be fine, except then I end up with like 1' of clearance from the hydrant, because I have the only car short enough to do this. Astute readers may recall the rule is aparently 12' so I appear to be pushing it a lot. I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed, but its better then walking forever to another spot in a more sketchy place.

Start of very long week

So this is the 1st week of jen being off in training in columbus. Its not exactly good. Its rather boring and lonely around here.

At least the weekend was fun. We went and went to Food network's show. So we got to see Alton Brown and Mario Batali. They're entertaining in person. Suposedly they taped the Alton thing to show sometime or another, so we'll see if that happens, I'm not sure what they'd do with it. Besides that, there isn't much happening. I think I may go and get coffee, but I got up approximately on time, so I can actually do this, and get coffee.

I've had some issues with more comment spam lately. I installed MT-Blacklist, which seems to at least allow easy deletion of comments. In the near future, I can install it on the other blogs, and maybe do some more tweaking to cut down on it. The end solution will probably be installing MT version 3, which has a centralized registration thing. I don't see it as much of a bad deal, but if there's suggestions on it, let me know before I go and do it, and then everyone has to go register to be able to post.

Mmm, donuts

I'm hungry. so I'm going to spend the 5 extra minutes I have getting coffee and donuts, instead of writing something witty here. Sorry. No wit whatsoever. Witless I'd say.

Nothing interesting

Well, so it wasn't a bad weekend. I got up so late yesterday I didn't even have time to check my email, much less do anything here. but I'm doing a bit better today, so that's a positive. Stupid colder weather makes it harder to get moving in the morning.

In other news, today i have an eye appointment. I'll see if I end up needing/getting new glasses, not really sure how it will turn out, but its been almost 2 years, so makes sense. And hopefully will cut down on the random headaches I've been getting for the past couple of weeks.

Besides that, nothing else to report, and I should get ready to leave.

Fridays.

So yesterday, I forgot to take some of the cash that is still left over from the 7 (its just a pile of $20s, so I take some when necessary) which meant that I didn't have enough money to buy lunch and pay for my haircut after work. I decided the easy solution for this was to go out to lunch, and get cash that way.

Of course no one wanted to go to Qdoba, so I said blah, and went to the new Sams that opened approximately across the street. The only thing that seemed intriguing, and in a small enough quantity to eat, was a cooked chicken. I have no idea how you're actually supposed to eat them, but its certainly odd to eat a whole chicken at your desk, trying to make a mess, or use 100 napkins.

Tasted good though. I'm not sure if I'll repeat it however. It might be easier to eat cold, I could get one before work for next time and let it cool off.

Argh.

Well I suppose I should admit that it was good I went to sleep eventually, as nothing happened. Of course I may also admit I probably could have done that an hour early, but its not a big deal getting a bit less sleep, I certainly did it enough during college.

So well, yeah, stupid election. I will point out there were lots of provisional ballots (at least 4 just in our line while were were waiting) being filled out, but I have no idea if they're leaning one way or another. Does super democratic cleveland have more issues with registering correctly then other counties? I have no idea.

Anyway, today is pancake breakfast benefit day, so at least if I get to work, I can eat and be full early in the morning.

I didn't place in the top 4 in the Chili contest, which is all they gave results for. Oh well. The leftovers went over well when I brought them upstairs, but aparently no one really voted for it from R&D anyway, so maybe I should have skewed it more and made it obvious I was making it.

About it from here really. So that's it.

one extra thought: Jen pretty well summed up voting, but sorry for not responding, I usually leave my phone in the other room, so calling it after 9 or 10 isn't generally an effective way to get my attention before the next morning.

Election day

Ok. So while the polls have officially been open for 11 minutes, in theory, as I have been awake for about 20 minutes, I'm not exactly rushing out to vote. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to vote before work, or wait until after.

Its during prime election time anyway, so I suppose its not a big issue, but I've been pondering for a while.

In other news, besides aparently too short announcements (but thanks for the wishes) its jeans week at work. So I can wear jeans, with a donation to the united way of $10. Of course work being work, there's a full page list of allowed things for this week, and it basically means instead of wearing khakis I wear jeans. Not a big deal, but a good benefit I suppose and not like donating $10 is a big deal.

There's a bunch of raffles for various things for united way as well, so I hope I win some things there.

Finally, Today is Chili contest day, so I need to take the Chili to work and hope its wonderful. Eek. Never done the competetive cooking thing before. Aparently at the 'last' contest, Bob, who sits across from me won. But he's not entering this time.
