Weekend visitors

Well, so the visitors come up this afternoon. Everything seems in place.

I'm not so sure about the weather though, it could end up being rather warm, at least the A/C works in the important places.

As that's the big activity, there isn't anything else to report, except that I have a haircut this evening, but that isn't really exciting at all, so I'm not even sure why I brought it up.

screwed up missing entries

I swear I had an entry yesterday. I must have forgotten to save it, and then did something or another, and it went poof. Ooops. It wasn't very exciting.

I also have a few pictures of the cat, since there were some complaints about a lack of those. However, since I didn't really get up on time, and its a bit hectic around here cleaning for the weekend house guests, they may need to wait a bit before getting posted.

In other news, Band is starting again. This is good, except that I was busy cleaning yesterday, so I didn't go. I'll go next week. It will be bandtastic.

Its time to get to work. I think we have a working lunch. All I know is I have a meeting scheduled from like 11-3. I hope I'm not starving through it is all. Or that we get pizza that I need to pick the pepperonis off of.

Morning cat stories

So the cat seems to like sitting on mats. She spent my morning shower sitting on the bath mat in front of the sink. This wasn't a problem until I wanted to shave. At which point, not wanting to disturb her, I had to stand off to one side, so I could still see in the mirror. It would have been possible to move her, but well I didn't feel like it. Maybe I'll do that if she does it again tomorrow.

I managed to test the park distance control on the car. It worked well, though I don't quite know how close I need to get to something before it really, really beeps. Not really one for trying. I think I should do some reading of the manual, as that's one of the two or three things that I don't fully understand the workings of.

The stupid cheap camera is still not working. I think it needs to get a strong kick into the garbage can.

Car!

Technically I have a temp license, so I could post that. But I have no idea what it is.

Anyway, everything picked up and settled by 7 yesterday. Then a drive home, then off to dinner at Austin's grill(e) in brecksville. It was nice. The car is great. There's one semi-blurry phone picture over on the moblog. I wanted to take more pictures, but the cheap camera isn't on speaking terms with the computer, so that needs to get sorted out (or a new camera bought, one of the two).

Other then that, all is well, the car is very cool, and everything seems correct. Now I get to go drive to work. Exciting way to drive though, so maybe it will make it more fun then usual. I think that's likely.

Pickup day...

Theoretically, today should be the day to pick up the MINI!. !. !!. It arrived saturday somewhere around 4, but in the continual fun that the world of car sales is, since my salesperson is on vacation this week, I had to deal with the other people. Who are utterly incompetant. So while i called at 11 and asked what was up, they said, 'oh, its not here yet, we'll call you when it gets in' I called at 4, and they said hrm, I think its here, let me check. Yes, its here.

Oh well, it got in so late, with service closing at 3, that I couldn't pick it up anyway.

In other news, since it seems to be time to sell the 7, I need to think about a digital camera. Since people complain my phone isn't the best one, and the intel one people also complain about. I was thinking continuing the tradition with an elph, but I'm not really sure which one. (somehow $200, $300 or $400 isn't a big difference, since I expect to get more then that for the 7..) Of course I'm not sure if I should buy an elf either.

Anyway. Need to sort that out, and then go to work, to go pick up the car. It should be fun!

quick

we went to swenson's drive in, which they serve you in your car. the cat showered with me (well with my feet as i was drying off, i thought they didn't like water) and nothing else happened.

Oh, the car should be here sometime between now and monday. we'll see and keep updated as necessary.

Sushi wednesdays

Yesterday was a sushi night. This meant a new and exciting activity, as it was at 6. (Need reservations, so need to be reasonably prompt) Anyway, it meant that I worked out at work, then showered, then drove down town. It worked (ha another work) pretty well, but I'm not sure I like the soap work has. (even though its work brand soap). I might need to bring my own if I do this in the future.

Other then that, my salesperson was out of the office yesterday, so I don't have much of a status update, but someone who came in on the same boat is expecting delivery by saturday. That's handy, and I'll have to call to see what I'm into.

Time for work I suppose... blah.

Various things

Well, so the recent activity is blogging while the cat runs around my feet. I'm not sure what is so interesting, but as she can be entertained for hours with a piece of paper or a wrapper, I guess my feet are inteteresting enough.

Besides that, this is an incredibly boring week at work, as almost everyone is out on vacation. I'm not sure why this is such a fun and exciting vacation week, but it is.

Otherwise, not much happening around here, and since I've got to entertain the cat in the morning, that leaves less time for other things. I guess I should get up earlier, but blah.

Latenight blogging

Well, as the guest bedroom is also the computer room with the current house setup, its difficult to use the computer in the morning when houseguests are around. Thus I'm blogging in the evening. Its exciting.

Not as exciting as the theoretical date of MINI delivery being less then a week away.

Besides that. It seems I've been destroying pants. I found two pairs of work pants with rather annoying holes in them. They've been since relegated to the other type of work pants (painting in a pair on saturday worked well) but I'm not sure if this means I should buy more pants, or buy more expensive pants. The general thinking is to just buy more, since I guess having them last 7 or 8 months is probably long enough. Who really wants 5 year old pants? Or do I?

So many decisions. But now its time for sleep.

Last update of the week.

Right o. So I got up a bit early today.I have since wasted that time by reading various websites. Oh, I chose a pair of pants. I decided friday should be green. That's very exciting, I know.

I felt tempted to coordinate the green pants with my green sneakers, but that would probably get frowned upon. Much like the guy who started last week as a designer (in another group, which is good, because he's a bit of a tool) aparently thought since we wear casual during the week, he could wear jeans on friday. He looked a bit out of place. haha. teach him not to ask.

Anyway, so I figured the best compromise was wearing the yellow polo shirt. That way, I can look like a giant sneaker. We all know giant sneakers are the best fashion accessory.

Oh, I didn't win anything yesterday. There was plenty of good things, however out of the 10 or so people (out of maybe 50) who didn't win anything, I was included. Blah. No one else from work won, so at least we're in good company.

midday bloggage

Haven't done this in a while. I had a dr's appointment this morning, and then the Northern Ohio Pro/E User's Group (NOPUG... blah) meeting is directly across the street from the dr's office, and that's at 11:30. Both of them are in Independance, 5 minutes from here, so it didn't make sense to go back to work in the middle. I got an oil change instead.

And went to the McDonalds that they demolished, and rebuilt in about 4 weeks. Its not bad looking, but the employees don't know how to operate the cash register.

Umm, what else. The car is scheduled to be available for pickup 8/13. I hope its a bit sooner then that, but not like I have a major say in it. I was hoping this weekend, but it doesn't look promising.

I need to get going to Independance, for my free lunch, so I'm off to do that now. I think I'll get gas on the way. It seems like a good time, since I know it will probably drop $.10 tomorrow, and I love buying gas at the wrong time, because my tank is empty and I can't choose.

Blah tired.

I'm really tired. I have no idea why, since I slept for like 9 hours. I just don't feel like waking up I guess.

We have a new lawnmower. Aparently, the decision was made that the lawnmower that came with the old house in atlanta was crappy, and the new atlanta house needed the newer lawnmower. Which left us getting a lawnmower that was still sitting in its box. Of course this caused confusion because who expected a lawnmower to be sitting in a box, so I thought it was stolen or missing. Not to mention the logic of turning a here, I have an extra lawn mower into, umm I bought you one. Go figure. I used it yesterday, it seems pretty good. Its a rear bagging/mulching, which I hadn't used before. It is nice to be able to get close to each side, so you don't need to keep planning the direction you go. It is however a bit loud, you'd think muffler technology would have improved over the past 10 years.

Ok, time to get to work, mostly because I don't have any other free time, so I need to get going.
