I should be eating breakfast now, but instead I'm blogging. I'll chalk it up to the 3 day weekend. Interestingly enough, there's still no firm plans for said weekend, but I don't see this as a huge problem. Just a small problem, you know, like finishing the house.
Of course with that admitted, I'm not sure what else to mention... I need to get another oil change on the car, with these 3K intervals, it seems like I'm doing it all the time (well really every 2 months). I guess the upside of getting a new car is that I can spread them out... Speaking of new cars, there seems to be progress in ordering one, but I need to wait for the salesweenie to get back to me, I was going to call him last night, but remembered that thursday is his day off. Slacker. What are people's thoughts on the hyper blue both the color itself and the color matched dash? well technically dash and door panels, but lets not be too picky.
Due to advantageous scheduling, I'm happy to report that with a dr's appointment tomorrow morning, I get to sleep in at least a bit, for the next 4 days. That didn't help me waking up, but its a nice benefit to look forward to. Of course, exactly what I'll do with all that extra time is still up in the air, but I don't see that as an extreme problem.
In other news, its not very exciting. I saw a geo prism with the bottom half of the door missing. Well not the entire door, but the outer skin, as if it had just rusted off, especially logically since its not like those cars are very resiliant to rust. I would have taken a picture, but they went off in another direction rather quickly.
Besides that, I think its time to get going, I didn't exactly get up early, you know, in honor of sleeping in tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day, and the next day.
As its supposed to rain today, I mowed the lawn yesterday after dinner. That allowed me to shower after it, which meant that I didn't really need to shower this morning. Of course that means that I slept in late, so now I'm running not on time as usual. I guess I'm just inherently pushing the last minute stuff.
In MINI news, the latest says that Hyper Blue will be available in August, but I'll have to see, there isn't an official announcement yet, and I've been leaning towards the yet un-released Astro black, which is suposedly black with a hint of blue. I'll have to see more pictures I suppose. Other then that, its time to get to work, so I must cut this short it appears.
I'm not in a bad mood, but I cut myself shaving again. Blech, and not a good way to start the morning. I did however get up moderately on time, but haven't done anything particularly useful with the extra time besides replying to some threads on MINI2. I guess that's my choice though, so I'm not really complaining.
The downside of course is I don't have anything else really interesting to say. I think I need to get to work to have some coffee before I'm actually awake. that's probably a better idea then attempting to find something interesting here. Clearly such items as Mullets don't actually promote interesting conversation, so I have to find an appropriate substitute, I'll work on that.
I guess I'm feeling British. Anyway, going to sleep early for once on a Sunday has allowed me to feel a little more like waking up, but not really. Maybe I just hate mornings, That would be big news. Blah.
Anyway, after a productive weekend, there's some unfinished business. There was a person with a freshly trimmed mullet, and it got me to thinking, where on earth do people get these haircuts? Generally, my experience in haircutting is you can either go to an old italian guy, someplace like supercuts, or something more 'upscale' None of those seem to imply that they'd cut you a mullet without attempting to steer you towards something a bit less, uhh, mullety. So that leaves one other option, the Flowbee. Which of course hasn't been sold or popular for years, but that could easily fit in with the mullet. And explain why they could only cut the front, because, well that's all they can see. However this guy had trimmed bangs as well. So he flowbees and then trims his bangs? I have no idea sometimes, but it really is rather confusing. I'll just leave it at that.
So I was happily reading slashdot, when someone for some reason linked the FTC's do not call list. I had completely forotten about it, (or as completely as possible) so I went and registered my cell number (astute readers will remember it changed when I moved to AT&T). I doubt I'll get any calls, but its always good to be safe, except of course I have that 3 month waiting period till official activation, but whatever.
In other news, its friday. Which is also technically payday, so that's very exciting.
In other news, there isn't any, except that I'll admit that walter did give me the tux info yesterday. Now I'll do my part, and it will be settled. At least unless I have really bad luck, but I don't think that will happen. Anyway, off to work.. I really wish I could get acceptable coffee somewhere on the way...
Well aparently my entries are boring, I think this is a relfection of my current activities. Short of getting up (which has lately become a pain) going to work, coming home, doing something/watching tv, and then going to bed, there isn't much else happening. I'm not sure if this is good or bad, clearly getting married for instance is a lot of work, so maybe I should be happy there isn't anything else going on.
Technically I don't dislike nuts, I dislike drupes. But not like peaches (they're good) things like walnuts, where for whatever idiotic reason you're supposed to eat the nut in the middle. Does anyone eat cherry pits? What about olive pits or plum insides? No, but we decided it was good to eat walnuts? yech.
I guess that got clearned up, I need to take more cereal today, so I have that big decision. Other then that, I should probably get going to allow time to pick out cereal, there's a rather large collection downstairs now.
So in in the interest of science, I got a box of Banana corn flakes, somewhere or other. Its actually quite good, except for the Banana part, because they never get soft, so you end up eating crunchy banana chips. Blech. It'd be much better if they just flavoured the whole dealie with bananas and left out the stupid crunchy fruit. Now I need to go see if stupid crunch fruit is on the inedible list, but yet again I didn't feel like waking up, so I don't really have time.
In other news, its Blood donation day at work. Which was also supposed to occur 3 months ago if you remember (I'm not sure if I said this) but the bloodmobile broke itself in the parking lot, so it got cancelled. Lets see if this time works better, since we've been getting all these pleading emails about it anyway, it'd be annoying to cancel. The upside is aparently they have all sorts of 'prizes' that you get to put your name in to win, so I'll see if I get anything good. Besides losing a pint to only get cookies. I was trying to figure out what time I wanted to donate, you know for optimal use of the free food, and it only seemed logical to go right after lunch, so I don't see that as the most productive time, but we'll have to see. Ok, for some reason my arm hurts from typing, I guess I must be sitting wrong, so I'm done.
I don't know, but I'm just tired. Maybe its due to the weather, or maybe its something else equally uncomplicated, but whatever it is, I don't really feel very awake. But that could have to do with my only waking up like 10 minutes ago. Hrm, in any event, the downside of a real job is I need to actually go in.
I'd really like to think there's something else interesting happening, but the most exciting thing that happened yesterday was watching the ER from last Thursday. Not exciting at by most people's standards. I guess its just the summer do-nothing kind of time. Maybe I need to find a better schedule, so I can actually plan to do things, or maybe I should just give up and only be productive on weekends, that worked pretty well last week. Except for the bit of a mess it made that still needs to get cleaned up. Such decisions. Oh well, in any event, its tme to get back to getting ready, so I must do that.
I meant to have more time for this, but you know, due to an accidental unplanned nap yesterday, I only fell asleep at like 1, which made me a bit tired this morning. Ooops.
In other news, there's some new pictures, that came out reasonably well, so that's handy.
In other news, house progress is progressing, but then I hurt from extra muscles and such that I hadn't used for a while. Finally, I need to find the pants I wore yesterday, because in all this room moving and such, I seem to have misplaced them, and thus my keys.
Oh, and happy graduation to those that it affects.
So I bought some bandaids yesterday, and obviously I haven't done this in a while, because they're now way more pathetic then they used to be. They used to have the outside packaging had little unglued pieces on the edge, now its just a total sealed pouch, so you need to (I guess) rip it and then avoid the bandaid in the middle of the pouch. Very pathetic, I'd say. I'm not even sure if it was worth buying the name brand ones.
I really can't think of anything else exciting. It should be an ok weekend, but there's lots to be done on the bedroom moving, other then that, and picking up the couch Jen found through the crazy law student, nothing really else going on. But maybe I'll blog, since I didn't yesterday, and I don't want to shortchange anyone.
Its very exciting in the wednesday sort of way, mostly because I haven't figured out what shirt to wear. I should do that, but you can all be happy that blogging is preceding such an important decision.
Besides that decision, there isn't anything else interesting, and I need to get going, so I'm not late to work. I've run out of milk for my cereal for the last 2 days, and as fun as it is to eat tastycakes for breakfast, I feel I should allot some time to get to a store and get milk. At least in theory, maybe I'm off base, but its my life, so I decide such things.
In any event, at least we're making progress on moving bedrooms, the current one is just too stupidly hot.
Well I actually knew Laura occasionally read, I just didn't think it was every day. Now I know, I feel so informed.
I aparently am the worst gas buyer of all time. Last time I filled up, it was $1.96, the day after it dropped to $1.85 or something, then later to $1.77. When I filled yesterday, it was up to $1.99. Any guesses on how it will have dropped back down? Its not like I try to buy it at the most expensive time, it just seems to happen. And I buy gas every 4 or 4.5 work days, so its not consistantly the same time of the week anyway, I just generally have poor timing. Blech. (Oh, and I fully realize OH gas is cheaper then probably anywhere else that people read, except NJ)
So camera phones. Lets see, I needed a new phone, as mine was pushing 3 years, and I wanted a color screen one. Given that, as it was all of $175 with all of the discounts and such to get the V600, it seems like a good deal. Don't forget the excitement of bluetooth which I haven't used, and being able to play MP3s as ringtones. But back to the phone concept, the point isn't that its a good phone, its that its stuck in your pocket, so its always around. That, and the low resolution makes the pictures really small. Who wants to go emailing a 4 megapixel file? I'd say for the price involved, it takes quite OK outdoor pictures. The only consistant problem is a lack of low light abilities, but you know, I should just stop taking low light pictures. The picture of the MO and my Cube look quite good.
Its my new technique to see if Laura will ever read this... Besides, I'm actually wondering.
Other then that, it seems like it will be an exciting week in garbage. In the process of going to harbor freight to get an organizer that has 24 trays to keep track of various screws and such, I continued to clean the garage out. Combining that with house cleaning stuff, it could end up quite the exciting wednesday. But today's monday, so we don't care about that yet.
From the dept of dumb cars, obviously (if you look) the picture of mine at 100,000 is insanely unreadable, so whatever, but we saw yesterday both an accord with tires so wide they came out from under the wheel arches (by wide, like 225 or something) as well as a '97 jetta for sale, with no price, but it had flames, and proudly said 'over $1000 worth of factory engine work' I wonder if the engine work was related to the sticker that mentioned it had NOS. go figure.
So I didn't reach 100,000 because I'm at 99997 or something. So I'll try and get appropriate pictures on the way to work.
In other news, there isn't much exciting. I am tired, but hey, it being friday I can do this.
The rumor mill is collecting about TechTV. Rather interesting, since I've only really started watching it in the last year or so, and now its off and going to change. I guess we'll have to sit and see.
The weekend isn't interesting, so nothing to report there.
I guess I need to get going to allot time for picture taking.
I'm running late, so I don't have time to do anything, except that the 7 should hit 100,000 miles today. Its a bit exciting I guess (fyi - I bought it 13 months ago with around 85 if I remember). I'll try and get some pictures.
So I'd just like the point out the irony of someone complaining about towm becoming town who then in the next line spells orkut with an i. Ok, done with that pointing.
So after joining up the very old, but still seemingly only marginally popular orkut (lots of communities, but seems like no one posts in them, because there's plenty of other place to discuss, say the simpsons) I'm not sure what is the next step in google excitement, I'll just have to wait and see I suppose.
What else, nothing really, I found the belt, with assistance, technically. This is exciting news.
Aparently one can buy fair trade bananas now. Exciting. (I just felt I needed a link, because I haven't had one in a while).
Ok, that's about it for the excitement quotient, I need to get ready to leave.
I still can't find my belt, but now I'm using this as an excuse to continue cleaning. Yesterday was a bit sidetracked because the project of the evening was starting on the hole in the ceiling. Today I'll spend more time cleaning up the room, so therefore, by logic, and that matter can't be destroyed, I should find the belt. Now its mostly a principle issue.
Aparently TOWN was awake at 4am and deciding to send out orkut invitations. I haven't tried it yet, but I suppose I'll deal with it when I get home. Certainly I think these social networking dealies are a bit past their prime, but we'll see.
In other news, I don't think I mentioned it, but I finally setup my voice mail on the phone, yes very exciting stuff. Once I bothered to read how to do it. With my exciting temporary password of 1111. Highly secure I suppose. Besides that, its just not an interesting tuesday. I guess the other exciting thing is I'm running low on cereal at work, so it looks like the rice crispies will be the next item to head off the Mentor. I think they're already looking forward to it, but I need to finish this so I have time to move them.
Odd how mondays always seem to exist. Go figure. Anyway, not the most exciting weekend, but fun and productive nontheless. As astute moblog readers (viewers? whatever) may notice, there's the messy blur, which was supposed to be a coffee cup that says 'i love the west side market' For some reason the picture that looks mediocre on the phone looks awful on the blog. Oh well. Also I continued the tradition of wearing shoes that have S' on them, for identification purposes I suppose and got a new pair of Saucony's and then two pairs (in an attempt to make shoes last longer, since my old pair of work shoes is almost toast at 3 1/2 months of work) of sketches work-sneakery type things. One black and one brown. Neither is amazingly exciting, but I do need to break them in, so then I suspect they'll be compfy. I'll keep everyone updated.
Other then that, nothing really interesting at all, besides some cleaning. It only took a good 20 minutes to clean off my desk. I guess I had been saving more paper then I really needed. At least that appears to be the theory, I'll know actually when I need something in a month and I realize I threw it out.
