well, i've made progress, and there's not tons left to do, but it always seems like there's way too much.
mitch, for some reason has very little stuff. this is rather annoying, as i have way too much stuff.
i also keep staying up late for no good reason, which makes me tired when trying to write these.
in other news, i haven't heard from kensey nash, (yesterday's job prospect) nor anyone else recently. wahoo. hrm, what else...
i did get cable and internet working at the new place. now if only i had somewhere to sit down... must work on that this weekend i suppose.
i missed the first of the new season of insomiac, dave attel was in amsterdam. very sad, but i did get a full supply of some movie i can't remember, family guy and lupin! yay.
I have too much stuff, with way too much effort and moving, I still haven't gotten minor things like my bed (which aparently doesn't fit in jen's dad's van, how annoying, must get uhaul tomorrow...)
i found a random job on monster, its in a suburb of philly, so i applied. seems i'm qualified for it, but of course, that never makes any sense.
i'm tired, way too much moving today.
yeah i should write more, but as i just had to come up with a semi-creative cover letter, i think my brain's full. sad, but true.
well, so i got the keys to the new place, but it was sorta raining, so i didn't take any pictures, i'll try to get some tomorrow, but have lots of big stuff to move, so you never know how that will turn out.
i don't have much else exciting to update. i'll continue to mention that i haven't eaten the pasta i got last friday, so i should do that. oh wait i never mentioned that before.
clearly, i need to find something more entertaining, but as its nearly 3, (mitch is a bad influence..) i don't exactly feel like discussing everything splendidly exciting.
i went to jillians with val, i won at pool then lost, but mostly due to dumb things, like scratching on the eight ball, or getting it in the wrong pocket.
not much else to report really. mitch is going to have his car towed to the dealership tomorrow, so maybe that will get fixed... ooh, or something.
so umm, i forgot to update, you know, because i thought it was the weekend, because it was still sorta holiday.
i've made some progress packing. i also did a bunch of laundry.
should i call it bordem or being productive that i started cleaning the tub? the drain was running slow, and you know, well ok, i'll quit defending that.
hrm, what else, i dono pretty uneventful.
there's a japense restaurant on coventry. i had udon. it was good, i hadn't had it in a while. amusing how just as i'm moving i find some other stuff that's nice. at least this time (for the moment) the moving yields only a 20 min drive to get back here. a bit more effective. my ears itch, i think this is karma to go to sleep.
well, so i got up early because i went to bed early. having awoken at like 8:45, i have done nothing yet except read web pages, and then reefi left. he did happily point out he cleaned the veggie drawer of the fridge. he didn't clean the carpet in his room, (nor even vacuum, when the vacuum was sitting outside his door, plugged in) nor do any dishes, clean anything else of the kitchen or bathroom. but you know, he has paid rent, so i guess i can't complain too much?
hrm, i need to pack stuff too, but i'm not feeling especially motivated. i think i'd rather go see a movie, it'd be a better waste of time. i think the fact that most of my boxes are sitting downstairs, i just don't want to have to climb up and down all the stairs. i think reefi also took one of my ethernet cables now that i think about it...
hrm, yeah well its a weekend what else can i say? blah! it is sunny and nice out though, since everyone complains i never mention the good days.
well, i didn't do much today. i woke up, went to chipotle, then went to a driving range, realized as i haven't done anything golf related since sometime in high school it felt very weird. near the end of the 85 or so balls in the bucket, i was getting a bit better, but it was still very odd. i probably also hurt my back, you know, since its logical to just bend over while swinging things. stupid game.
i got dinner, and then went to a new wine bar with val. and tried a flight of dessert wines. nothing too interesting, except this gross framboise thing from somewhere, which tasted like raspberry swill instead of wine. all very confusing, and not exactly worth $4 or whatever i ended up paying for it.
hrm, what else, no news on the job front, my vonage stuff should show up tomorrow, which will be cool.
i get to go back to the market, and then maybe i can figure out what i should be doing, like some packing and such, which is probably good.
oh well, cleary my move date was not interesting at all.
val thinks i should work at a wine bar, i think i should find a real job. i dono which is more likely.
the car seems to only smell around the exhaust, i think this is an improvement...
other potential not jobs:
1. something computer related
2. something bar related
3. something retail related
4. something car related
5. something something related
i think the car stinks less. this is definetly a good thing, and i looked under it, besides some rust, it doesn't seem to have any more deer stuff, so we'll just assume its residual stink.
hrm, i applied for a job at jnj, i'll see how that goes, i'm feeling it'll probably get ignored, like every other application to a huge company.
my head itches. i think i'll blame it this time on the shower i just took.
mitch has a video conference interview tomorrow afternoon with some company in orange county ca. i wonder how that will go.
hrm, what else, i'm sorta tired, and need to clean the air filter on my room de-stinkifier, but i'm not feeling motivated.
i feel i should make some point about american idol, but you know, it was a close race, and the phone was too busy. now we have a new meatloaf sweat magnet type guy. and hey, the tour's coming to cleveland, but you know tickets have already been on sale, so i can't get some close enough for him to sweat on me. amusing how the poll online is also 50/50 clearly a nicely divided country. on an issue that barely matters.
what else... i dono i think that's it.
my vonage phone should arrive on friday.
day i should actually start packing for my tuesday move in start.
1. thursday
2. friday
3. saturday
4. sunday
5. monday
6. tuesday
7. stupid poll
8. wednesday's even better
i haven't had tacos in a while. i dono if that's relevant to anything. well really, its not. oh well.
so my grandmother traded in her blue jetta for a dark silver one. but got an automatic, hopefully she'll run into less things..
i forgot to mention, in addition to a flat tire, and running over a deer carcas, i missed a turn somehow, and ended up having to drive through akron. you know, because its fun to go visit extra cities and waste 30 more minutes at the end of a drive that already got 3 extra hours of waiting. ugh!
hrm, what else, i dono i worked on the utilities for the new place, they seem to be progressing. yay! i even ordered a cable modem that will match my router. they'll be so cute together.
what else, i dono i can't think of much, i got my diploma, it looks like its really cheap, especially since its printed in times. you know, why use a font, when the standard one's just fine. but it is large.
i also picked up my tiime sweatshirt. its gray. and smells like new sweatshirt. i think this is a positive thing.
deer stink removal techniques:
1. try again at car wash to spray off
2. give up, let it just dry out
3. go to mechanic and make them clean it
4. buy new car
5. find something that smells worse, like rotting milk
well so tomorrow i'm off to NY. this is exciting stuff, but sorta problematic as i haven't done any real packing or preparing yet. of course i'm not hugely worried about this, but its still sorta an issue.
quick chat with dave gave me a better idea of the plan, so it seems as if we're going to the city on saturday evening (though i dono when, sorta depends on chl and everyone elses' plan) it may easily end up more as a night activity.
i'm making progress on the apartment, need to stop by and drop off the application tomorrow. hopefully that will work out, it'd be a bit simplier you know. ugh!
hrm, what else, i cleaned more of my room, but still have stuff to do, and am not feeling especially motivated. i did charge the ipod in prepartion for the trip, that's at least good.
i'm pondering getting a new ash tray for the car, there's one on ebay for $15, then it'd match much better, for some reason the original one faded. ohh, i put on the license plates today, and took pictures, but i'm too tired to deal with them, so i think they'll have to wait until i get back on monday. such is life. they weren't very good anyway.
i still haven't thrown out the old basket, so i'm open to suggestions continuing.
view of having a garbage plate in rochester:
1. yes
2. no
3. maybe
4. only if medically necessary
5. whats a garbage plate
i went to lunch at westlake. yeah well, so it was worth driving 25 miles. i got food at an irish pub, and it wasn't northern irish, so my name isn't put on any more blacklists.
i later went back to westlake with mitch and val and jen to go to dave + busters. we played video games and the like. i got a stuffed M&M, its much bigger then the one on my backpack. very exciting as well. they have overpriced beer, i didn't get any.
what else, i called parma woods, they're being stupid and still won't quite tell me why i got denied, but it seems to be related to not having a job, so i'm going to try another place that should be a bit more understanding. its not like coming up with $400 rent is difficult... mcdonalds pays more then that.
i fixed my cellphone charger, and i actually just used the postits as wedges, mostly because they were on my desk, so i wedged a connector down by putting paper above it that pressed on it when the whole thing was closed. but you know, it sounds better as postits.
mountain dew live wire tastes really good after an apple. i dono why.
alyson hannigan is the cover girl for FHM for june. this is exciting, and sad that i missed her when i first picked up the magazine. fortunately i noticed later. some good pictures, some bad. but ohh well. unexpected in any case.
i had pizza for dinner, it was good. val finished it when she got back here, so its simple.
i thought there was something else, but i think i've forgotten what it was, but that's not a huge problem in my view.
i didn't do much room cleaning, but i did get rid of some spots on the carpet, which is always good, i think we can actually clean them all out, which is a good way to avoid needing to rent a shampooer.
i learned on family guy, if you mouth vacuum to someone, it seems much much more vulgar. its kinda funny.
uses for shattered plastic garbage can:
1. new basketball style
2. hat
3. throw at bikers and try to trip
4. airgun projectile
5. melt into postit glue
Well, so excitingly enough, i got the title for the car today. so then i did my research, and found out that i did need to get an emissions check. of course since living in you know polluted cleveland (who knew?) that means actually testing exhaust gasses. exciting activity, besides the line taking over an hour to get there, i had the inspector in training, who:
1. didn't realize (even after sitting in my car) it was rear wheel drive
2. didn't seem to realize wet tires on a steel dynamometer will slip
3. didn't seem to remember that there were wheel chocks under the front tires.
anyway, i passed, but it was so late, i couldn't get to the license place thing that was close to the inspection station, so i went to the one sorta close to my place (read only white person in there...) in any event, i've successfully registered the car, (but still kept my NY license) so that's simple and done with. (now the title will make sense, if it doesn't, you have to wait until you see the car then)
so hrm, what else. i got my new towels today. they're exciting, i took a shower in honour of them. it was wet. nothing too eventful there.
i checked with the parma woods people, they denied my application (i'm not sure why, so i need to talk to the supervisor tomorrow)
i cleaned my room, or at least a garbage bag worth. more of that tomorrow, i just sorta ran out of motivation.
i believe that bread in a can was boston brown bread, and i swear i had it once, and it tasted like can, but maybe i'll get it again.
go eat a spamburger, i won't be offended, i'll just quietly laugh. oh and chuckle at your arteries.
brains in milk gravy is just gross. i don't think we need to discuss it anymore then that.
when i got the plates, the guy looked at my license and said 'ooh, from the big city' i wasn't going to get into details, and said, well a bit north...but yeah
i think that's all the excitement for today. mitch hasn't eaten the potted meat yet. i should tell him to get to stepping.
i managed to fix my desktop charger with 3 postits. its sorta amusing, but we'll see how long it lasts. at least it saved me having to buy a new one, since i didn't even really know mine was broken. i guess that's its penalty for cheap design and falling on the floor too often.
favourite postit use:
1. putting passwords and sticking to monitor
2. cheap orgami
3. spitballs
4. paintball armor
5. potted meat gravy
6. q-tip
crud, i accidently deleted my whole entry. boring weekend generally, except for friday's shootings and stuff, but glad i was away for that.
i also know how to cook leg of lamb really well, with some assistance. ok a lot of assistance.
i had thought spam + cheese, in a can was the worst food product currently sold, but no, i found potted meat which is far worse. i bought a can for mitch (it was $.50) in any case, i also found out actually, it gets worse, as you can see by the links on the webpages, there's all sorts of other gross things. and dave barry wrote a about it.column
all very scary. i need to figure out my plan for NY, dave's suggestion we stay in the city sat night, since allie can find a cheapish hotel. seems like an ok idea.
i need to do productive stuff tomorrow, like sort out my application for the apartment. ooh fun, yes.
worst meat by product recipe:
1. chudge + potted meat
2. milkshake
3. wallpaper paste
4. anything with brains in milk gravy
5. there was another suggestion, i seem to have forgotten it in my erasing...
so i had a hamburger for lunch. it was exciting. then had discussion with mitch on however called him. then we found out val was going to go to PBL, but didn't because i dono why, and reefi left (we have no idea why he was there, but he never makes any sense) about an hour before shootings.
mitch is planning on moving to nashville, because his sister lives there, and then he doesn't need to move home. seems like a good idea.
i need to go shower. i think we'll make quizzes a m-f thing, then i don't need to use extra brain power on weekends to come up with them.
not much else to report. if you want to look at how close i live to the building, you can map my address (1728 E 116 44106) and cross reference the corner of ford and bellflower, but that's a bit overkill. just ask me, i'll tell you. ok fine, I made a link, look 300m to the left to find the corner.
So yeah, while i was shopping at the market, it seems that someone went into Peter B. Lewis and started shooting. oh well, good for me that i shop on friday afternoons. anyway, if you watch the tv coverage you can see my building. how exciting, but mitch isn't on the porch giving the news camera the finger. off to my normal weekend activities :)
i like cheese too, i just forgot it for some reason. anyway, lard i don't think comes from the same spot as bacon. There's this article on pork bellies, which is raw bacon, which seems to imply that bacon isn't fatty enough, thus pork backs are used. besides, bacon is popular, so one would think lard would come from someplace less useful in pigland. Lard's also white, bacon fat's never that refined, its more of that greasy yellow colour.
enough baconess. i'm not a big salsa on eggs fan, the tomatoes don't work right, but i dono. i didn't try the chipotle tabasco, i just used regular, i'm not sure why, i guess i didn't want too ethnic eggs.
so i went apartment looking with lauren, the upshot was, there's lots of semi-nice but very sterile lofts available for $700 or so and up. which would be fine, if i had a job. but ad in heating, and parking it gets to be pretty expensive. she called later today to say that she had found some other wonderful place, but it was only openining the end of the summer, which sounds much better, since you know, you don't have to be limited, and its much easier to get the cool apartments. in any case, i think we're still leaning towards shorter term parma stuff. i need to check on that.
i also had gelatto with lauren. it was appley. but also had teeny bits of apple, which was a bit odd.
umm, yeah i'm not sure. i was going to say other stuff.
i did a bunch of errands today, but my room's still a mess, its sorta sad, but you know, i can only do a certain amount of stuff, and its annoying anyway to deal with my room, and i spent several hours running around town to look at apartments. much less the ones we ignored because of generic sketchiness.
also, apartments seem to have odd views on pricing. like you can rent a washer and a dryer, since many of the 2 bedrooms have hookups, but its $45/month. not like they're getting a good deal given the cost of one, they probably just buy it new for each person who wants to rent one.
i'm tired, so i think i'm off to sleep, i need to ponder other exciting stuff. like what to do on saturday when i'm free.
saturday suggestions:
1. shop
2. buy more towels, since mine won't be here until monday
3. try to further plan NY trip since its half up
4. figure out why car seems to use a quart (or leak, not sure yet) of oil/tank of gas
5. buy more oil, ignore usage (we'll assume #1 was for things i want)
6. go to the beach and freeze
7. go get krispy kreme's
8. nap
well, so i went to sushi rock today. lauren likes frois gras. this is gross. she's also supposed to be a vegeterian, aparently that means she doesn't eat cow. lets not start a vegeterian argument, but we can all agree that's a bit lame.
on the subject of cows, i'm tired.
i'm thus going to sleep shortly.
i made myself some eggs after watching kung pow movie, or whatever it was called, i got bored 3/4 of the way through. such things happen.
i need to pay the cable bill, i keep forgetting. stupid bills that don't pay themselves! ugh.
we listened to ub 40 on vh1 classic, aparently after midnight they just have random 80's bands that no one knows, or songs from known bands that no one knows.
uhh, not much else. i found some apples in the fridge, that were still sorta edible. it was exciting in that apple finding way.
best egg seasonings:
1. seasoned salt
2. tabasco
3. pepper
4. none
5. lard
6. parsley
7. bacon fat
8. suet
9. frois gras
10. quickly degrading choices
so yeah, i went out to champps (clearly a restaurant with spelling issues, they also have a habit of using your name if you pay by credit card. anyway) which was exciting in its own right.
i'm not sure what else happened today. its sorta a blur, i wokeup around noon, i sat around, and then went to see X-2, it was actually quite good.
so i found out that you know, going to matinee's and eating late midweek dinners has a nice habit of avoiding crowds.
on the subject of crowds, tomorrow's sushi rock night, with val! (and lauren and val's friend april)
i got bored and checked my grades, i got a B in people + change in organimizations. of course i didn't do well on the presentations, but still, i'm a bit annoyed.
i really should get to sleep, for no good reason other then i'm tired and i can.
best way to combat B in class:
1. get grade A meat
2. realize its better then a c
3. get job, quickly
4. ignore it, not like i can do anything
5. drink old crusty
jen also dislikes old crusty, i dono if that got mentioned earlier.
well, i would write more, but i'm tited. in any event, i'm now finished with all of my 2nd degree stuff. yay! or something.
i also know there's some irish stout that tastes like cheap buffet meat. mostly steak. its just all sorts of odd
i will write more tomorrow, but i need sleep now.
yay, and i'm glad to be free, and uhrm, unemployed, and confused as to where i'm living, but whatever.
cinco de mayo is a celebration of 4000 mexicans beating 8000 french, in 1862, which saved the french from supporting the confederacy, and thus indirectly helped at gettysburg. in the event you didn't know, and didn't feel like looking.
sorry, no quiz, its nearly 4am, sometimes i can get out of it. and there's no iced cocoa either, because well ha.
well, so i have my stat final tomorrow. which of course is my last final. which is also good news, the bad news, of course is that i need to do the missing homework assignments before this occurs. oh well, i'm sure i'll figure it out somewhere.
the iced cocoa thing is my fault, but isn't it ironic its also the month anniversary of minisquishing? oh well.
i'll shortly get around to getting pictures of the new car, since aparently those are wanted.
i should write more, but eh, i'm tired. i did apply to the santa rosa job, and i emailed my resume to the contact at BD, so maybe he'll find something.
no one seemed to want the patent number off my shoes, how sad.
excuses for not doing stat:
1. my imaginary dog ate my homework
2. family guy was interesting
3. i was still trying to figure out what that shot was
4. puzzled at the concept of statistical concepts, because its recursive
5. boo mondays
so jen and i went to some guy who's some something of jen's friend (yeah you know, nearly 6 full degrees...) 30th bday party, which was riding in a limo (which was fun) to the piano bar place which had dueling pianos. it was a bit odd, but enjoyable in that odd way. also a good place to pickup 35 year old women, in the event you were so inclined.
on unrelated stuff, i think i'm making new living arrangement progress, but i somehow exceeded the original budget, since i'm looking at a $500 2 bedroom apartment.. but i should save energy, as its on the 1st floor, and thus nicely optimally cooler.
ok, i'm tired, and you know, i can't always have quizzes, so ha sleep!
so we went to a wine bar, and val actually likes old crusteacean. its very scary. mitch agrees its nasty.
umm, ididn't apply for the job in santa rosa.
the shot is a b-55, absinth(e) bailey's and kaluha.
i don't feel like making a quiz. happy saturday. meep.
i think i should collect some pc manuals from like 1980.
my shoes are patented. you can guess why if you care.
i had the link open, but closed it. oh well.
well, so the bushings and such arrived, so i installed them. it of course ran into some difficulties, and i noticed that the old ones weren't broken, they were just missing. needless to say its much better. and actually feels correct. oh, and the grease i got looks like cranberry sauce. i think i could have some fun with it. its actually probably about the same price as cranberry sauce too. only downside, i got a splinter cleaning something, and i seem to have lost my tweezers, so anyone who will see me, say friday evening and has tweezers, could bring them, and that'd be helpful, and the splinter is annoying, and probably not too sterile.
val wants to get a buckwheat pillow, but hasn't yet. everyone should!
i don't think i should get hungry on the way back from places. i stopped and got 3 donuts after bw-3s, and then ate them while watching mitch play zelda. it wasn't exactly the healthiest thing to do.
on the upside, i went to 121 for the first time in a while (since spring break?) in any case, it was very health clubtastic, but i guess that's a good thing, not like it was difficult to adapt to going back, so maybe i'll continue that, always handy to offset extra donuts.
i swear there was other stuff to discuss. the usual lame job leads, i need to apply for another job in santa rosa, i'll do that tomorrow... eh, that's about it i think.
so, name the items in this shot glass:
and just to simplify things, they are 3 different things, no more, no less. and the top isn't midori.
see, a quiz that's not obvious, nor easy!
bonus points if anyone knows what the name of the shot is, or if someone guesses correctly first (since i'm not big on fcfs type stuff) feel free to then find out what shot it is.
well, so happily it seems that my final today went well. we also handed in the business plans, which was also quite good. i even got the two copies bound. now can anyone explain, why binding, (71 pages if you're counting) costs $2.50, which takes about 5 minutes each, to cut holes and align and such, while faxing a page is $4.. because you know, dialing 7 digits and putting a piece of paper is much more complicated. ugh.
so yeah. yay kate.
i went and saw better luck tomorrow, it was actually pretty good. ithink its the first mtv movie i've seen, or at least remember. and while it was very much about high school, its at least entertaining and a good movie.
i then went to bw-3's, for long island night (with a handful of mem people already there) i think my tolerance for cheap alcohol has gone down or maybe just liquor in general, since after 1 1/2 long islands my stomach just felt all sorts of broken. but whatever, i don't expect to get them anytime soon again.
uhh, what else, i'm tired, so i can't think of anything. the shifter parts didn't show up today, but oh well.
the 3rd alumni contact got back to me, he was in CA last week, so i'll call him tomorrow. i was too busy today. and i cleaned my inbox, its now down to less then 200 messages!
time i'll sleep until tomorrow, if i go to sleep before 2.
1. 10
2. 11
3. 12
4. 1
5. if you call me to wake me up, you're automatically disqualified, and i'll be pissed
