Egads Batman

This has nothing to do with batman, but i figured i'd just mention this anyway.

So everyone's blogging now. how exciting. i await the day when i can do nothing except read blogs. it'll be blogtastic, and very destitute. at least i'll know everything that's happening.

so i think my spinbrush is dead, this may call for actually buying a spinbrush pro. either that or trying to remove the batteries again. for whatever reason that worked once, it may work again.

i had a bunch of other interesting things to say, but i forgot them as usual. oh, i found someone else who just never had all their wisdom teeth, technically michelle beat me by only having 1, (to my 2 in the event you didn't keep track).

so i went to the inaguration today. it was ok, the usual long winded whateverness, however the excitement, i tracked down thomas jackson, (the president of UR) and said hi to him, discussed how he's never on campus, and undergrads don't know who he was, etc, etc. i guess when they say the largest group is alumni, it means you need to be one to actually talk to him. he was friendly though, just looks much different up close then you'd think from pictures or seeing him 200 feet away at offical events.

I think i should be scared. I've left 11 IM windows open. Or maybe it proves my popularity. I'll support that one.

Ok, i'm tired, and have whatever class at noon tomorrow, so lets get on with the quiz, even if it doesn't make sense, and yes i will try presti's donuts, i just didn't feel like it today after coventry. and no dibella's is still the king of cold sandwiches, and can you call a guy bootylicious? and i have to go with Laura, i really associate sock garters with Ren + Stimpy, and richard geere isn't my type, so i can't suport that, but everyone's free to have opinions. I didn't follow up on the interview, i got sidetracked. it was a busy day. I ran to yoga. it seemed very counterproductive.

I can't think of an interesting topic, so I'll try one a bit saner (but related to inaguration day):

Water I haven't tried but you think I should have.

1. Genesse
2. Perrier
3. Dish
4. Bong
5. Pond
6. Fuel Cell Exhaust
7. E. (For the missing E in Gaffe, not MDMA/Extacsy)

Beerios

Well I had this half typed, then hit back, and it disappeared. crapo. Anyway, contrary to popular belief, Labatt does go with Mint oreos, which are good by themselves, even if Val didn't think so so regifted them to us.

So I recall why I like Target, they had a special section for Yoga/Pilates in sporting goods, where I got a nice blue mat. I hope i'll have time after the inaguration (which i need to bother to plan ahead so i have time to figure out how to tie a bow tie again...) so i may need to take my shorts to the concert. it should be fun anyway, assuming i don't mess up too much.

I caught lunch at Penn Station, its my new favourite sandwich place, since its got baguette type bread and all the subs are cooked. it works out well, though $7.50 for a sandwich is a tad expensive. And they have fresh iced tea, which somehow i seem to be getting more addicted to. not that that's a bad thing since its much better then drinking something with calories.

so the car fiasco. I called asking what was up, they said uhh oh, its done, no one bothered to tell us. 45 minutes later i went to pick it up, it wasn't washed. then the airbag light came one, which had to get it sent to service, who diagnosed it as needing a new wiring harness, which made me late enough that i missed class (and hence could go to target on the way back). i asked the service manager how many things needed to go wrong, he said there was no fixed number... i'll have to check on my mood in the morning, they did say they'd get me a loaner, i hope its a bmw this time, instead of a 4th string kia rental.

after i got the airbag dealt with, i noticed the hood wasn't perfectly aligned, so that got fixed, and then i noticed the trim ring around the headlight was loose, but that couldn't get fixed because they ran out of time and the light needs to get removed, and then the fender trim wasn't fully installed, but that needs a plastic piece they were out of. i love quality workmanship. crap.

so other then the concert tomorrow, i have a meeting at noon which i need to get up for, but it should be a good day. hopefully i can strech myself back into some sanity after the concert and then all the leg stuff i did today. blah! i should weigh myself again, i suspect i may have lost a bit more...

ok, so today's poll, back related to Chicago:

Sock Garters:
1. They exist?
2. Useful
3. Only useful if Adults on Ren + Stimpy wear them
4. Only useful if Richard Geere wears them
5. Gaff Tape is Better
6. Pneumatic Staple Gun is Better

I'd have to say my favourite answer from yesterday's quiz would be #2, or #8. I'm not sure why #2, except its amusing sounding, and #8 because if you really look, all the ingredients (except for 'extra fatty pork or whatever) are pretty sane, its just the idea. blech!

I'm still spoiled on fresh fresh donuts, microwaving just isn't the same, damn krispy kreme. on the subject of them, (suposedly elvis' favourite) tomorrow's the 3 weekiverssary of interviewing... not like being slow or anything. damnit!

Orchestrate

So i had forgotten how uncomfortable the seats in severance hall were! blech! for 2 hours. i guess that's how they con you into the really expensive seats, they don't cause severe back + neck pain.

otherwise the concert was quite good i feel like i've done more cleveland stuff.

so umm responses:
i've had presti's donuts, a couple of times (far less then chipotle) they never seemed to be warm, i think i have bad timing, and i've tried all sorts of time during the night. but i'll try again at some point.

i've pondered yoga + women, but i'm so clutzy i think i need to wait to stop nearly falling everytime i do anything complicated (like touching my toes). at least that's the current logic, maybe its flawed...

So the answer would be a tie between 3 + 7, though ocasionally #4...but that relates to #3. how confusing!

ok, so i'm tired (odd how mitch naps on the couch and doesn't get tired, i stay up and end up) so i'm going to quit writing:

Tonight's quiz: What should I give someone who makes Chudge or Pork Cake (vegeterian sausage acceptable, can't get any worse).
1. Maalox
2. Mylanta
3. Tums
4. Pepcid AC
5. A Clue, they obviously lack one
6. $100
7. 100 lbs
8. A reminder that not everything edible can be combined

So yeah, i think it'd be cool to go fruit picking again, there's always spring seasons, like peas. or strawberries. or moss. you could go orange picking in florida now...

I could dig up the ingredients for the cider donuts, i get the feeling with a mini bundt pan (they're so cute) and everything else, i'll spend like 4x as much as i would just buying donuts somewhere. but at least they're baked not fried. (though I swear the ones at fishkill farms were fried)

slippery slope

I heard slippery slope was an exciting word.

So I know grad school is good, when I spent stat seeing how high mitch and I could get a paperclip folded in a triangle to jump. Evan was sitting in front of us, and taking notes on the inside of a Peanut M&M's wrapper. it was fun.

So the 'offical' NY donut is a cake donut, that's plain. They're usually made by machine at the apple orchards, and thus are warm and go quite well with the cider, because they're not incredibly sweet, also you can dunk them, and since they don't have sugar or cinnamon they don't make a mess. unfortunately they seem to be rare outside of ny. Dunkin's original i think could be similar, though they don't usually have that oddball handle thing. I'm not sure why no one else knew of it, maybe because we never went apple picking? I also never seemed to think of it until I left NY, but I know I had donuts + cider a few times at BME registration things in the fall for spring.

So tonight's uhh topic:
Most annoying Blog ettiqute faux paxs:
1. Forgetting to read
2. Forgetting to read the first quiz option
3. Not leaving comments
4. Leaving comments so inane no one else wants to
5. Getting really worried because things are in reverse chronological order
6. None, blogging is wonderful
7. None, anyone who reads this is spectacular anyway!

To add fun and excitement, and in honour of the final for my summer materials + manufacturing class, you can choose multiple answers or one, and will be graded based on how many you get out of a possible number of points. (Unlike the SAT's you won't be penalized for getting anything wrong, isn't that thoughtful of me? boy did that test suck.)

I'm sad I'm missing lupin tonight, but i really don't feel like staying up. i'm in a good mood because the instructor for yoga conditioning thanked me for showing up to class. I was uncoordinated and sorta lost, and the only male in 20 people, but i guess it worked out. i enjoyed myself, this self-motivation schedule thing seems to be working, who would have guessed?

i'm going to the orchestra tomorrow night, i assume it'll be worth missing a half hour or so of class for. i'll let y'all know how it was. and i'll quit attempting to be southern, because its scary. since no one commented on the quiz, i won't leave any correct answer info! ha!

Superstuff

TOWN - I hope you were really drunk or something because your comment makes no sense. it also seems to have scared everyone else away from commenting. you'll have to explain, since at best you commented on 4 list items, and there were 7. at worst i don't even want to discuss it, but i think i'd need to hire a consultant to understand it.

so i watched the superbowl. nothing too exciting which i'm sure anyone else who watched could say. thus i'll quit commenting on that.

it was a pretty boring sunday otherwise, so i can't say a whole bunch of other things. chl suggested that i read microserfs, because he stumbled across it, TOM had suggested i read it like 8 years ago, and i never got around to it, i think i will now. in honour of that, i've come up with my 7 optimal jeopardy categories as tonight's quiz. (due to poor response on last night's quiz, its less quizzy and more i dono, something. douglass couplandy)

1. Modern Remade classic British Cars
2. Esoteric Knowledge
3. Important Pacific Water
4. Alanisms ( a poor category, but you know, it makes sense)
5. Things you never expected could be remembered
6. How to appear irritating when not intended
7. The history and application of Laziness

One extra, when I was at the market, I saw one stall still had apple cider (I'm still trying to find the correct donuts to go with it, I miss NY's cider + donuts things everyone else thinks is odd, it makes sense damnit) anyway, they didn't have any half gallons out, so I asked if they had any left. They checked in the back, and found one, then asked me how many I wanted. I was confused and pointed out if I wanted more then one, I would have gotten a gallon, as they don't make good gifts I wasn't going to hand them out. it somehow confused the owner enough that he stopped asking and just took the $2 or whatever the half gallon cost. i was amused. and confused.

Chi-Town

So I didn't update more then once, because 3 comments, one of which is complaining about MT doesn't count as massive. (Ahem... there is a link to MT if you're so set on using emdashes for whatever reason, you can email to complain, but i bet they'd say uhh, we fixed it in 2.51, just use that version)

Anyway, so I guess the quiz topics will need to become topical based on what i do or i'll go mad. or have to resort to always using people's suggestions, which could get boring as well.

i saw chicago tonight. it was good. i apologize for doubting that it would be, and yeah it was different from a play, though now i'm somehow wanting to see it in a production, but i don't even know where it'd be playing and i'm too lazy at past 2 to look it up. it does bring up an interesting topic:

i dono what i'm doing for the superbowl. (ha, i lied, that's not the topic, but its relevant anyway) Btw I don't think chl reads this, he's too busy being a cityite or something. or i just have no idea why he doesn't read it. he used to i think. ask him?

Optimal method for murder of signifigant other:
1. Arsenic
2. Blunt Force Trauma
3. Propylene Glycol (Antifreeze)
4. Japanese style kitchen knifing
5. Running over with large gas wasting SUV and making it seem like an accident/publicity stunt
6. Cyanide (Mmm almonds)
7. kleine Kaliberwaffen (The german method!)

I guess by admitting a preference this could come back to haunt me. note to self, do not kill signifigant other. (note to note: i'm single, this is irrelevant)

Updatetastic

Well So i'll address the few things I've forgotten to mention.
I got sheep #8. he has brown eyes. And his tail is much more like dorsal fin then a tail. and he's a different colour. but he's cute. and sheepy.

I got ketchup flavoured potato chips (2 british words in 2 lines, I'm good) in canada, mostly because they were C$.99. they were scary, but tasted like you'd expect ketchup lays to taste. they even had a nice red colour. (3) i won't buy them again, nor go out of my way ala FIJI to get them. but it was a life experience.

I didn't intend to sidetrack everyone by saying I traded in the MINI, i just couldn't think of a better word. oy, such confusion ensued. The civic is mediocre (Laura) and I think a Jetta is better in the same price range and ultra-popular car(yes helen I did say that) but we can discuss it later.

So there isn't a correct answer to the poll, but if it promotes 4 comments a day, i'll continue it. the theory was, it was 2am, and i had nothing better to do, so i chose drinks that only TOM (its an acronym figure it out) would know, without stealing his drinks. I also got bored at 4 choices, so gave up. I think FIJI would win, but it really wasn't meant to have a right answer. Tonight's will be forthcoming.

on the subject of TOM, kudos to TOWM for creating a unique name. I was highly amused for no good reason, almost enough to reply and break the pattern of only posting once a day. Almost, continue it again and I just might.

So I did nothing today, except work out, (which was only the lower body, so i'll be in half as much pain, i think...) which btw had like 15 females and me. it was a bit awkward as i'm generally uncoordinated, not to mention i got ab cramps in the middle of it, so couldn't even keep working on those. blah! after that i went to the market, but i went so late i couldn't find any good lettuce, i really don't think lettuce and saran wrap should have the same texture.

well i think that's it, so tonight's quiz: Woman I find most 'Brutally Hot' (not my term, don't ask)
1. Jill Hennessey
2. Laura Elgin
3. Alyson Hannigan
4. Val Jurkovich
5. Julia Stiles
6. Kathy Kinney
7. Nicole Kidman
The only rule, if you're going to guess, you need to follow the TOM or TOWM method of discussing logic. Its far more entertaining for everyone else. And no, I don't guarentee a right answer, if I did, it'd be less fun.

Have at it. I don't have anything planned for saturday, so I've got nothing better to do then think up tomorrow's quiz. I might even be tempted to explain some of the names since I don't think anyone knows who everyone is. So did I distract enough to make you forget what you were going to comment on?

UPDATE: I didn't mention the 'unoffical' correct answer for yesterday's quiz: Irish carbomb would have to win. Which for those of you less bartending inclined is half a pint of guinness that you drop a shot glass half of bailey's half whisky (jameson usually to continue irishness) and then drink quickly. Its actually quite tasty, assuming where you go knows how to make it. Courtesy of Mitch, I guess its reciprocity for telling him about sapphire + tonic. (Tanq is Tanqueray Gin which is like drinking a horribly strong pine tree, hence sapphire being much better)

Triceps

so I woke up with my triceps hurting just above (proximally) my elbow. they've been hurting all day. very annoying, and random place of all the stretches and weight training. ohh well.

i went to yoga. its interesting. its like a mini cult, of everyone happily stretching along and breathing. i kept forgetting to breath, but at least i didn't feel like an uncoordinated fool like i did at muscle conditioning. (which i think i'll try again tomorrow, with mitch if he feels like waking up) i'll end up going back to yoga. its sorta addicting, you always want to stretch a bit more or hold a position for a bit longer. after 1 session i think its scary i think this... i'm not sure if playing at the cwru inaguration next thursday will get out for yoga in time, i don't think so. my only other options are like 6am... eek! well not super eek, because i could go and then get breakfast and go to class, but still eek. i'll think about it later.

unrelated to yoga, i went to bw-3, aparently val is now working wed-fri so our regular thursday plan is toast. how sad. shareef is in michigan somewhere for an msu minority career faire, so he wasn't around, so it was just mitch and i. i entertained myself losing at the trivia computer thing, though i did win the last game. i think i was sidetracked by drinking harp and bass, neither of which were good, both of which had odd whisky aftertastes, yech. i think i'll quit thinking they're drinkable, or maybe they got keg skunked i'm not sure...

other then that, not much to report, we need to wash dishes tomorrow, as well as the usual friday shopping. i stopped on the way back from bw-3s to get a donut. it turned into a donut and a cupcake, which had peanut butter + chocolate frosting. i ate the donut, and the frosting with milk (surprisingly went with a stomach of beer, i may regret that...) and threw 75% of the cupcake out. i guess i was in a weightloss mood. or something.

as i mentioned earlier, i'm not granola, its museli, i need to support my sorta european heritage.

i'm pondering making one of those quiz things in aim, but i don't think i will, instead i'll just make cryptic questions, like which is my favourite drink:
1. tanq + tonic
2. shirley temple
3. irish carbomb
4. mccormick tequila + sprite
i figure if the answers are so odd, (and irrelevant as i have none..) that 1% of people will get it, it'll be sutabily entertaining. perhaps i'll find a topic for tomorrow. as tonight's is now sleep. (i'm still way more motivated for that then excercise, but yes, we should give the weight to walter)

Nintendo Thumb

Laura, you were comment 103, so you win 0.000103% of a car, such as a 1989 chevrolet celebrity wagon. (Assuming they existed in '83) That should equate to about $.15, and to save postage, I'll give it to you next time I see you.

So after going to entrepreneurship I went to the exciting business launch competition, which had food and drink. I had a glass of non-descript chardonnay and some cheese and crackers as well at hummus and pitas. Then i was bored for an hour while the CEO of invicare cracked scripted jokes and old people laughed way too much at them. Oh well, I guess it was good for networking, not that I talked to anyone. Its all theory.

Oh, so my thumbs, We managed to beat Hunter on gamecube, not bad for 1 1/2 weeks (I think this could be an example of how busy I am...) but now my thumbs hurt. Handily the rented games can go back now. Since there's nightmare mode, which just ends up having way too many people to kill on the level, getting 3/4 through the 1st level we killed 500 zombie things, each which take about 6 shots. pain in the neck. and thumbs! i think for my sanity i'll quit while i'm ahead.

unrelated to that, mitch and i went to muscle conditioning today. it was painful. besides being generally uncoordinated to do things like hold one foot out and sit down to make my thighs parallel to the floor with my back squished against a excercise ball, it was just painful to do even when i could do it. I figure i'll try again on friday, which is the same class taught by someone else, and tomorrow assuming band gets out on time, i'll try 'normal' hatha yoga. Today's class was decidedly more ouchie muscle building (really toning, as mitch put it, he'd rather build muscle then tone it.. i'm not sure what i want to do, but at least it was an hour of structure) but i can figure that out later. i hope i can walk tomorrow, somehow i'm not that uncomfortable, except things like walking up the stairs to get here seems suddenly much more difficult. It had nothing to do with the 2 1/2 beers we got at the spot (random bar/music hall thing that's open on wed nights under the dining hall on north campus and is managed by jen who's in the program, and has $1.75 pints) since i don't think they had any effect on me. i guess this 'semi regular' drinking is having an impact. i did however just get full of beer, i think more than a quart in an hour is just too much beer, even if its canadian. (we switched to rolling rock which just tasted weird after the 1st 2, hence not finishing it) anyway, i have nothing to get up for except laundry and doing dishes (because it seems no one else will, either that or its some engineering structure i'm misunderstanding) but sleep is a good thing anyway. hasta la taco.

oh, headlights - we weren't good enough at id'ing taillights to keep track of daimler chrysler nuances, if we were 25% right i think we'd be about on track, but its far better then your average person could do. i'm not sure if this is scary or good.

Freezing Cleveland

So its like 8 degrees out. I decided after class (which got out early, yay!) that I'd work out. It wasn't very exciting, and was way too busy, but i walked for a bit. then got sick of waiting for an eliptical machine with arms, so left, and walked home in shorts. it was fun. people looked at me.

so i checked the schedule, i can sorta manage to get to classes. mitch and i have agreed to try muscle conditioning tomorrow at noon. (labelled as yoga without meditation) there's some other stuff i'll check into later. with probably going to the launch something something tomorrow after entrepreneurship it'll mess up the wednesday schedule. but i really think the midday classes will be less busy then the evening ones, even if they're sorta during lunch.

so not much else, it appears i'm going to the orchestra concert next tuesday. i'll have to leave class early, but it should be worth it. anyway, time for sleep, so i'll need to run away now.

btw, i hate real razors which make me cut myself. its the damn annoying tradeoff between electrics and actually working. at least i know i can lose a pint and not care. its very difficult to ooze a pint, but i seem to be getting close. stupid body leaks.

Tomorrow

I'm tired, it was a long day so I don't feel like updating a whole bunch, nor staying up to midnight.

The autoshow was cool, so umm not sure what else to discuss. I'll talk more tomorrow.

UPDATE: Well I need to write quickly, but oh well.

So I traded in the car for a Dark red '02 Civic LX with about 6k on it. Its not as horrible as the kia or the lancer I've had recently, but its sorta annoying. And to make it reasonably cool, its MINI priced. Though it does have real back seats. It was handy having mitch around, he interpreted Honda stuff. Like needing to have the cruise button enabled on the dash before the steering controls work. how odd.

Parking in detroit was annoying (bad luck on finding a lot) so it cost $13.50, however two random people gave us free passes when they saw us going to buy tickets. Handy $12 savings each.

The show wasn't amazingly exciting but I think it was worth going. Not much new, but I did get free evian and pretzels in the BMW special area. MINI didn't have one, so my key got me somewhere cool anyway. I didn't try using the Honda key to get anywhere.

After the show we went to windsor, it wasn't amazing, even though it wasn't a canadian holiday all the damn americans were there, so the table minimums were at C$15 or so, and thus we played video blackjack. it was ok. I lost some money on slots as well. not awful though, I spent $35 including about $10 on food. then drove home. Driving home was boring, but somewhere about 30 min from clevehole mitch and i started competing to id cars by their taillights. we were mediocre, but got very good at dodge minivans. (I think 30% of the cars on the west side were dodge minivans). it just got annoying when random things like 1980's station wagons got thrown in the mix. you wouldn't think to guess one of them. headlights btw were a giant pain to do, so we stopped. ok, enough talking about random driving.

detroit rock city

So I found rice vinegar, which was pre-flavoured with oregano and basil, as well as some sugar. Handily its still nearly calorie free, after some experimentation, I decided the cukes needed pepper as well, so I threw the bottle of vinegar, 3 sliced cukes and some whole peppercorns into a gallon zip lock. they're stewing happily. the only downside, the vinegar was like $3.. i'll have to try the re-stock thing to try and equalize the price. not that its uncommon for me to decide to do something to save money and have it cost more then if i didn't bother in the first place.

on the subject of detroit, it seems as if tomorrow is finally the auto show unfortunately, or fortunately, i mentioned to mitch about the casino windsor ads that are usually on cleveland radio, since his dad thought dtw was 4 hours away. so now he wants to go there afterwards. i actually think it will be fun, and considering table minimums are $5 canadian, its not exactly excessive. hopefully he, not having a passport can get across the border, but neither of us look supiscious.

i'm sad lupin appears to only be on at midnight from monday-thursday. oddball 4 day a week thing. not sunday.

i need to drop off the car, hopefully all its current 'issues' can get solved along with the de-denting and repainting. and hopefully the rental they'll give me won't be asstastic. we'll see, i don't think classic sells kias, so the worst it could be would be a cavalier or an echo or something.

need sleep to get up early, so i'll run away now. i figure i may take the digicam (yay british terms) to get piccys (ditto) if anyone has any preferences, tell me, but i'm sure they'll come out like ass like they always do. (telling me can involve calling the cell, as i may leave before you read this)

99 comments of beer!

Continuing the number theme, i have 99 comments. At least until I write something interesting enough to get more. (i wouldn't count that as a subtle hint, its more of an obervation, and no, whoever gets comment 100 doesn't get a prize, at least not unless i feel like it, since i think starch-mike is usually up the latest, he's most likely to win, and its unfair)

so i went and saw 2 week's notice. it was good, but it had all sorta of NY references that no one laughed at. Like, 'I need to go somewhere where no one knows how rich I am - Where is Staten Island exactly?' or, 'I can cancel tennis tonight, they always make me play with Ed Koch anyway'

There's this irritating lightbulb that finally died. It had been blinking in annoying me for about a week, but I never remembered to deal with it, except when it was on, and thus too hot to change. Assuming of course I have an extra bulb anyway, I can't remember if I got one or two from the last dead bulb incident. Forunately it seems to have finally kicked the bucket, so it'll be cold and I can change it in the morning. Life is grand isn't it?

I have 4 cucumbers that I got for $1 at the market yesterday, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them, since dipping them in ranch dressing would be rather unhealthy, and I have none, but they looked lonely, so I may have to find some odd recipe or something, or just get to peeling.

I joined 121 fitness today, it was a good way to spend $130 or so. Now I need to remember what my schedule is, and choose classes I want to go to, since I still think they'll be more fun than running not in circles when Mitch is there. Yoga seems to be offered, as well as a bunch of other stuff. Any suggestions? I imagine its all typical, but I haven't had time to read it, since after I joined I found out they close at 6 on weekends, but the 'floor' closes at 5:30, (I guess they expect you to take 30 min to shower or something, who knows? ) anyway, I had 10 minutes, so I just ran, and ignored the paperwork, which I don't feel like looking at now anyway, as I have zilch to do tomorrow, I might as well plan something.

Well, maybe I'll get hot dogs tomorrow, I got mustard and kraut, but am missing key ingredient. Also I realized smartly I scheduled the MINI getting dropped off Monday morning, after class, at like 10:30 (leaving here at 10) I just realized today I don't have class monday! excessive waking up sorta early for no good reason! ack!

Ahh oooh uhrm.

Nothing amazingly interesting to report, Mitch and I went to the west side market, I got my usual pasta and some some oranges, and found fresh garlic which is always useful for all of $.25 a head. yay garlic.

didn't really do anything else today except stop by mama santos in little italy for pizza on the way back from walmart, they said it'd be 35 min, so we had to come back here, and wait, and as it was rush hour, driving wouldn't work. so it was a 10 minute walk in 15 degrees to get pizza. odd, but good anyway. and at $7 or something for a 14" about as cheap as scenic MHVNet pizza.

tomorrow's not too exciting either, but at least i can sleep in. i woke up early today at noon, (so like 6 1/2 hours sleep) did my section of the homework, then mailed it out, and ended up asleep again for another 2 hours. not the best planning, but since i didn't plan it, i don't reserve a right to complain.

its been rochester snowing recently here, just a sort of constant, though not enough to accumulate, so its like perma flurries. mitch finds it odd, i don't really think anything of it. i think that in itself is sad. i didn't check the mail today, maybe i'll run downstairs and see if anything interesting came. I guess I could worry about getting something from medtronic, but really they seem to be the most fedex'd place in the world for not doing something interesting, like bean or amazon or something, so i'd expect them to send anything that way. oh well. damn suspense. i think i need to sleep on it. that and collect my fiji bottles, they're accumulating, and as good as they look, its not quite the best decorating style.

Squeep

Well, the best perk of no classes friday? Staying up until 4 on thursday, and not caring! Wahoo. I've managed to get mitch to like saphire + tonics. I guess this is a good thing, even though they're $5.25. I should indirectly thank starch-free mike for pointing out sapphire to me at some point.

Unrelated to C2H5OH, i think we've postponed going to the auto show in Detroit until sunday. Mitch has stuff to do tomorrow. I figure I'll go to the market when I bother to wakeup.

So in discussing homework with my group for marketing (which I have yet to do, that's what tomorrow is for.. oops) I found out none of them got A's in the class. As the class was mostly the projects which were all groups, its sorta interesting. Oh well. I really should have done that homework since I said i'd do it today, but i forgot, and its not due until sunday, so umm yeah. tomorrow.

i in theory btw realize burning calories increases metabolism, but for those diehard fans, you can recall i didn't do amazingly well in physiology. also, mitch went to the gym today without me. i was sad, but i think i'll actually join the next time he goes. sane investment i say, and not bad to give it a rest after the inital day, i need to stretch some anyway. so ok, time for sleep. its exciting! and bed before 4:30 is a good idea I hear.

Wednesday Improvement

Well, so I decided to go to sleep, mostly because everyone on the bored humans list was away. of course that's only 8 people online, but whatever, its still a bit sad. i guess everyone doesn't know the wonder of classes being done for 4 days. i do have a meeting at 3 tomorrow and band at 4:30 though...

on the subject of freetime, i decided that while shopping miday could be fun, i lose my parking space, and there's no spots until the early evening so i have to get creative. not exactly a fun activity.

on the upside, i got bored, so i went and worked out with mitch. which was equally boring, but at least productive. its important to burn 700 calories in a workout so i can then be hungry when i get home (and now for that matter) and then eat most of it back. we'll hope this wasn't related. and i didn't eat any more cookies, so i guess that's positive. but they are good.

other then that, its a boring night. i figure tomorrow could get more interesting to make up for it, but i'm not holding my breath. instead i'll try to sleep without collecting a pile of little blue fuzzballs sticking to everything. stupid new sheets.

burgers + brains

so after reading about $41 hamburgers in ny, i figure its time for some sleep. i also decided it was that time of the week, so i should shave, which made me cut myself and bleed. you'd think there'd be a good balance between the safety of an electric razor and the 'wow it actually cuts something' of a normal one. but alas, i am not so lucky.

on the positive side, i talked to dale today after class, which ended up being like 10 minutes, but he seems to still be trying to get me somewhere with nottingham and spirk, that's at least positive as i had given up on it. on the odd side of course, i don't want to end up having way too many offers, its like dealing with multiple girlfriends, but alas i should only have that problem. and i still get bored during the day, so having a job would be good.

i should have dried my hair more, i'm dripping on the keyboard.

nothing else great to report, my damn new sheets aren't fitting well, so they keep pulling up on the side of the bed and looking bad. i cleaned the bathroom in the 30 min after futurama before lupin, it was productive, so productive i even got bored and washed dishes in the time the toilet was steeping. (soaking? i dono what you call it, it needs to hang out, so its something)

seems to be about it i think, so its off to sleepy land for me. tomorrow's the last day of classes for the week! i'm so excited! maybe i'll even go grocery shopping in the middle of the day. it'd probably work out well, since i wanted some cereal this afternoon, but realized i had no milk. boo. moo.

Edit:
So I bothered to check comments, I was out of the loop since it'd been a week since anyone left any! ahem. anyway:

Lupin (Technically Lupin the III) or www.lupinoficial.com is the anime series that is super wonderful about the world's greatest thief and his gang. it is also what inspiried the plastic bullet on my cell phone that chl got me came from.

Ikea is wonderful, everyone should stop there. especially since they're so sparesly around the US. If you're going back over spring broken you should stop. hamilton's sorta cool anyway in its own right.

Lupin On TV + Classes

Well, so after an amazing response, we have started Lupin being on cartoon network at midnight! 5 days a week! So exciting! Now if Only I had a tivo, but alas, dave is waiting on that both for my birthday and to sort out if i'll have satellite. bah! everything's always waiting on medtronic.

i sent out my thankyou emails today. didn't get any responses, but didn't really expect any. yay progress.

class was boring today. its like being in the thick of the semester right at the start since we're just continuing all the classes. at least tomorrow's are a bit easier since they're both new. but ugh! oh well, must move on. i did positively find out that my not as high as wanted gpa was much higher then well, like everyone i've found out so far. that's always positive. (i'm sure people with other similarly high gpa's aren't going to tell me what theirs are, but i'll keep track of the rumour mill)

nothing else too exciting today. i did go to mentor to sign some papers so they could order parts. the car is getting fixed starting on monday, and then the shifter assembly will get replaced then too. they'll sort out a rental which is useful. on the less than useful side, i think something's screwy in the brakes, since they squeal now, but worse, the pedal gets soft after a bit, much like when the master cylinder was toast on the jetta. do'h. i haven't even fixed one problem yet!

i need to sleep on this. we have readings for class tomorrow! before it even started! such a scam. oh well, at least i did them, and bought the pile of notes for $150, plus tax!

Ikea is cool

So I went shopping at the IKEA in pittsburgh (oddly abbreviated pgh on PA road signs.. anyway) and saw my brother at dinner with mike and anne. it was generally exciting.

its sad there are no ikeas closer, and especially closer to memphis. its also sad we only realized the insomniac on tonight was cleveland right at the end, when dave attell was at the west side market. very sad.

upside, well i dono i need to get up too damn early, and mommie's on tv tomorrow. not amazing. other upsides, mitch actually did dishes! this is very exciting. its also sad i need to go to bed right around or before midnight in a feeble attempt to get enough sleep. the stupid 8:30 class is in the farthest possible building! yech! horrible! i'll let everyone know if i survive. maybe a job offer will come soon down the pipeline...

meh, weekends

so i saw narc with mitch, it was a good movie in the sense that critics would like it. i think i still prefer pixar, its sorta depressing to watch high quality movies.

on the low quality end, we stopped by blockbuster, and i rented bmx xxx, its sorta amusing, but i'm not a huge fan of skateboarding/biking/skating type games, so i dono. worth looking into anyway, and its certainly got a full collection of purile sexual references within the first 2 challenges, i sorta fear what happens next.

mike's showing up tomorrow on his way to scenically tour the us again, i dono what we're going to do. cleveland just isn't that exciting, but hey, that's what creativity is for. moo. cows can be creative.

i got homework assigned before my first class, something about reading something out of some book which i need to buy. very underhanded! thankfully its for a late class on monday (or tuesday? i lose track) so i can buy the book during normal hours, but blech! i need a job so i can quit worrying about superifical things like homework. oh sleep. since i have a headache, i think 1:15 is quite adequate for a bedtime.

back on trak

ooh, emma watson is going to be on leno tonight.

my head itches.

this would be cooler if i could write it in haiku.

i'm still tired.

this is blank filler.

i'll quit while i'm ahead.

more memphis updates

Well I need to write this reasonably quick so I can finish before midnight, so I can write another one after midnight and keep up to date.

anyway, so i had an amusing time, i've explained most of it. i need to send thankyou emails on monday, and i sent the phone #s of the references i forgot. (for those of you keeping track, liz romaski, al padeletti and dale flowers), since they needed 2 supervisors.

as i said, sofamor danek seems to be the only place on the planet where getting dressed up for work still exists. i may need to stock up on white shirts, of course that would be simplier if i knew how it really went.

i dislike telling the same story 40 times, so it got annoying to interview with 3 groups of engineers, and they asked somewhat the same questions. oh well, maybe they'll compete with me for job offers. or maybe i'll get an offer in regulatory affairs, as the guy there just asked me about my family, but pointed out how many jobs they had open.

*y* this isn't very long, but you know, memphis just isn't that exciting, especially if you only spend 24 hours there. anyway i think my bed looks crappier with a blue sheet on it. you can see the pattern from pillowtop. i'm not sure this relates to memphis at all, but i just noticed it. so deal. i'm still tired, even after i napped for 3 hours this afternoon after i wokeup.

Pink Sneakers

Space saving post to keep a certain pink sneakered person sneakily happy.

Memphis went well, I have no food, I'm hungry and tired. Maybe I'll get a job offer soon to makeup for it.

The insurance guy called and left a message, and said they would be writing a check. So it should arrive shortly!

moving on south....

So I fly out tomorrow at noon, which is exciting, but I'm in a blah mood and don't feel like packing or doing the research and other stuff that's necessary. oh well. i'll get through it sometime, as well as having to set 10 alarms tomorrow to be sure I wakeup as usual.

nothing else amazing to report, though I did finally get to get a haircut, and then got my suit pants tailored for the insane amount of $12.95, but they fit much better, which is all that matters. I need to bother to pack them in something, but i'm working on baby steps. i was so excited i found the missing cable box remote sitting in my vinyl walmart interview binder. very exciting. (the binder's nicer then it sounds)

i did point out the 'amusing quotes' were from car talk. i've also re-edited the post to avoid offending anyone. i'll stick to my own boring quips. like why am i hungry now? or moo. they seem to be more exciting.

anyway, as logical, i won't update tomorrow night, (mostly because i'm too lazy to bring the notebook for just one night and try to find either a use for it or internet access) but i'll hopefully get in at 9:30 thursday, so i can update with all the gorey interview details. i'm scheduled to talk to 10 different people. with names like 'michael smith' can you say white bread? also i had to bother to mention in the land of bbq that i don't eat pork, since bbq is scheduled for lunch. do'h. i hope its not a huge strike. maybe michael smith with be jewish.

i need to get a good job so i can get a thx certified dvd player and receiver. it only makes sense, especially for the dvd player, since i care more about picture anyway. i'm sure that's massively interesting to everyone, but at least you haven't seen/heard/rolled your eyes over it before.

time for sleep. need to prepare to face the south!

ahh, mondays

well ok, so nothing too exciting happened. I got an estimate from classic, which was $1020 or something to fix the car, so i called and we'll see what i hear on when that will actually get done...

mitch has abby, his ex-girlfriend from high school over. she complained we had nothing, i had to point out we weren't here for 3 weeks... other then that nothing exciting. she also liked the ducks on the shower curtain. wahoo.

i tried yet again to get a haircut. i failed, as aparently haircut places are closed on mondays. who knew? i hope i can do it tomorrow, otherwise i'm too much don king not enough early elvis.

random thoughts which were quoted but i forgot who (courtesy of a repeat of car talk from yesterday's drive): did chicago start when people in ny said, we like the poverty and crime, but its not quite cold enough, lets go west?

*space formerly occupied by moving bodies quip*

i think that's enough excitement for the moment, though maybe i'll think of something else. as i didn't have a half gallon of iced tea, i think i may actually fall asleep.

oh well

ha another ohio pun! Anyway, so i came back and i've told like 10 people the story, so i'm not discussing how my extra set of tires were stolen, but used as bait and i need to pick them up tomorrow. its just too much typing. that and i have no idea about the details. anyway. i'm tired, amazing, since i consumed half a gallon of iced tea as usual on the trip and once i got back here.

stupid fiji is heavy. and its a long distance up here. too much work!

everything's clean here, its nice. i guess my effort in december paid off. i wonder where mitch is though. handily, he left dishes in the sink, how thoughtful of him.

ok, i'm tired, and i have to run errands, like getting a more appropriate elvis' birthday haircut. i imagine it'll be fun, but you know, nothing is fun until you sleep. mmm, sleep. oh yeah, so ignoring the sleep. i get another day of sleeping on the blue sheets. now its like the sheep are adrift on a large ocean. its poetic.

bye bye ny

so to clarify, days and dates, when i go to sleep, its the end of a day. this is regardless of it it being midnight or 3am, the day doesn't end until sleeping. in the event i don't go to sleep, if the sun rises, its also another day. leftovers from working night owls.

anyway, so i'm leaving for oh tomorrow, in theory in 10 or so hours, we'll see how that works. its sorta sad. hopefully it'lll be interesting there, i get used to going out all the time here, but you know, education calls. and memphis!

so i realize i think why i don't bother to excercise. i'm lazy. this is not a surprise, however, if i either actually positively make a scheduled time to go (but i dono what i'd want to do..) or instead sign up for classes (suggestions? yoga.. something) it could work. of course i'm not sure if this would work while i'm still at case... oh well. good i don't ever get success from new years resolutions.

so i went roller skating. it was fun, my blisters are even small! so i now realize that rap is invading the world. its sad. however, even if its poptastic, i get the distinct feeling it will be phasic, since all music is. anyway. even though a mullet was spotted, no 80's music existed, and it was sad. but oh well, have to realize things change sometime, and i guess now's just as good as any other time. *sneeze* i think that means its time for bed.

Let it snow.

Well, so to reiterate, the car is fun to drive in the snow. I think everyone should enjoy the sliding and slipping that comes with it. just don't get above 4" i attempted to follow the forester into the dealer parking lot when dropping it off with klaus, and gave up since i was plowing an inch of snow which severly hampered my progress. otherwise an uneventful jaunt through poorly plowed roads in the middle of the night in the middle of a blizzard.

so mommie's principal decided it'd be amusing to sign up for this group weight loss thing, which happened to be cbs' early show (she didn't realize this) anyway, so she's scheduled to appear on the early show from jan 13th until march 10th every monday morning to track weight loss. (each member of the group of 6 from her school will try a different program) the theory is a few of the group need to lose 10 or 15 lbs, others more. have to see what happens. i guess this means i need to bother to program my vcr, or at least watch tv on monday mornings. good i have class starting at 8:30 now on mondays. blech.

i drove to prestige mini in nj to attempt to get the door fixed, they did that, which was ice, which was annoying, however they then poked at other stuff for 2 hours. amazing how much nicer they are then classic. they even hoovered (need to be british) and washed the inside of my car, quite useful as it was a mess and i hadn't gotten around to doing it, which was one of the things i was going to do this break.

nothing else to report. at least nothing i can think of off the top of my head. it should stop snowing tomorrow evening, which will give it just about 12 hours to get cleared so i can runn back west. wahoo! (more snow here sunday evening, a few inches)

Stupid loveable car.

Well so it seems that upon returning to my car from blockbuster this evening the driver's door stopped working. Its not even frozen or anything, its just well, stuck. I've emailed westchester mini about an appointment... should be fun, though really if its not fixed its at least just a hassle instead of something major, like umm, not having lights.

on the other car front, i got the report from the town police. they gave me the insurance info, and ticketed the moron for unregistered vehicle and false plates. Also he admitted he saw me and heard the beeping, but didn't think it was me. integon (his insurance) said they'd call me back on monday to look at my car. at least this is progressing...

i forgot how cool thx's otimode stuff is. its actually thx optimizer, but its nice to be able to actually calbirate the tv. unfortunately, sometimes it shows how awful things can be, like the sharpness being awful. but hey, everything else worked. and now i need to ponder spending $2 for the thx blue glasses so i can adjust color and tint without having to guess what red should be and what magenta should be. much more exciting. and you know, 3d glasses that are only blue are sheik too.

not much else to report, i saw lilo and stitch. it was stitcherific. though a bit cheesy at the end. ohh well. i should get to sleep, so if westchestermini calls at 7:30 or so, i'll be able to actually respond and get down there. (not like i know exactly where it is, or how much fun it will be to do during a snowstorm, but meh)

Cut finger

I cut my finger on the cheese slicer. its annoying.

i looked at more info on sofamor danek, they make some cool stuff (check out website here i also found out they lost a patent lawsuit. oh well. note to not bring that up while i'm there. suposedly i'll get a finalized schedule tomorrow. very exciting.

i dono what i'm doing tomorrow, besides trying to track down the car status as well. walter is free, so perhaps that will occupy most of the day. if not there's always more ice cream to amuse myself.

i think i'll head to sleep, since i have nothing to do, and whatever i was going to say i've obviously forgotten. yay for failing brain cells.

More New Year

Well so last night was fun, and now to top it off I get to deal with an annoying cramp in my side which is making it hard to type and visiting Klaus' mom. hopefully something more interesting will happen after that, since it promises to be painful.

i hate my electric razor. its the worst purchase i keep trying to justify by using... i really need to just spend some money on blades again....on the subject of blades, i also need a haircut. do'h.

anyway. time to get going, i need to prep myself to have my head explode from family goodness.
