gifts all done

well since usually gifts are spread out over 8 days, i guess its sorta sad, now i have no more gifts. maybe i should decide to celebrate xmas this year to makeup for it in a month.

since i'm sure those of you wondering are wondering what i got:
dave + allie got me a magnum of 1980 heitz cabernet sauvigon (i'm not sure what i'll do with it, maybe my birthday, but they readily admitted it was a useless gift)

from mommie + klaus
a pair of candle sticks (you think they're pushing the jewish thing?) they gold, but relatively nice
a lawn frog made out of random metal pieces
a framed b+w picture of some fence in stormville or somewhere. it looks nice
a gallileo thermometer that hasn't arrived because it was shipped to ca by rodent, however its suposedly cooler because it is ballons not just glass ball. i'll have to wait and see
a set of blue flannel sheets for my new sized bed
i think that's it, but maybe i forgot something.

since everyone's heading out to the malls, (you need to brave multiple?) now you know what i got, so you don't repeat. i know this may require lawn frogs being returned, but its for the best.

i'm tired and sick of trying to type with my elbows on my bed, so off to sleep. wine tasting at camus tomorrow, and then i have no idea what. mommie and klaus are leaving at 9 or so, so its a free day without them.

sleep/shopping/holidays

so its kinda nice, i can think of going to sleep on pacific time, but in reality, its actually way past midnight eastern, so i can write an entry and it will be on the correct day. very handy i might have to ad.

day went well. that's boring. tomorrow we hopefully get to do some random shopping because its a shopping day, and then go and look at a morris minor that's suposedly somewhere near here. yay british cars.

more holidays tomorrow, i dono if that's anything useful, but at least its good to quickly move onward from turkey leftovers. you can never find enough excuses not to have turkey for breakfast even if the rest of the family thinks its a good idea.

i get the feeling readership has dropped due to the holidays. this is sad. somehow i can't imagine eating pumpking pie is more exciting then this. maybe that has to do with my not especially liking pumpkin pie. its cruel and unsual pumpkin abuse. pumpkins are made to have candles stuck in them, left on the porch 3 weeks longer then they should have been and then have the neighborhood kids kick them into the street. i don't see pie as any part of this.

dave really likes the riedel vinum extreme dessert wine glasses i got for him. handy, they're quite cool looking too. when i'm not falling asleep i may get a link. also i'd be more inclined to make a link, but moveable type seems to have eaten the link buttons in here on the ibook. stupid web browsers not being compatable with anything.

raisins

so dave got me fresh raisins from the farmer's market in san francisco. they're good. who knew raisins didn't need to end up being crusty and dry?

since you can never have too many stupid animated gifs. http://home.iprimus.com.au/wigg/dance.gif

I should say something else interesting, however its 3am eastern, so while i am good at avoiding jet lag. certain exceptions need to be made.

the flights were uneventful, and life's boring otherwise. organic egg nog is not as good as it sounds, at least around here, since it tends to taste like a broken cousin of buttermilk. not good. i guess buttermilk is another one of those foods i don't like. soymilk however isn't bad. i got the vegeterian meal on the flight from atlanta, and i think it was vegan. in any case, i could actually drink the soymilk if i just kept drinking and didn't stop. protein's good. besides i felt obligated to drink it since i was listening to my headphones + ipod and the stewardess had to yell at me to wakeup and take the food. poor airplane form i know, but at some point they'll get over it since they get paid. time for sleep in any event, need to prepare for an exciting holiday type thing.

Packing.

Packing is a very interesting idea. It seems the necessity of finding clean underwear (you know, because you might be in an accident!) is complicated by many other things. for instance, why in the summer, when i have the summer socks, can i never find them, but only the winter socks, but for thanksgiving, the simple task of 6 (5 days + requisite extra) pairs of socks becomes a huge issue?

It can be related to electronics perhaps. I had to pack 4 ac adapters! (ibook, ipod, razor, cell phone). its a scary world where everything needs its own little transformer and can't be happy without it. or a digital world? maybe something in the middle.

it snowed. i noticed this about 30 minutes ago. i guess i live in a closet, since i had no idea about this from the time i walked home when it was cold and flurrying at about 5 until now. somewhere in the middle 2" or so showed up. how odd. i feel out of touch with nature. i think its because i haven't raked leaves in a while.

its difficult to think of more creative things to say, especially since i'm inclined to go to sleep, but sidetracked by a plane leaving in 3 hours. i think a shower is a better idea, that way at least i can be creative with water. simple molecules are the best.

Dale flowers said he'd happily try to squish my resume towards john nottingham (spinbrush guy, runs design firm, etc). i'll have to hope that goes well, at least networking has some vague ideas. i found out who makes the foam that goes into cheeseheads. its polyone. this isn't very exciting, but you know i've been finding out about all of these interesting products that i own. its still very much irrelevant to anything, however its somehow relevant. isn't engineering life weird like that? time to head out. i'll try and keep updated from CA, but you never know with those crazy vacation things. since my buddy list has all of 2 people in bored humans, obviously the rest of the world isn't very connected, so i don't need to be. bah! happy turkeystuff + (tofurkey as necessary) (gruel as necessary) to everyone.

Beware The Power of Cheese

Giant Eagle, the semi-nice grocery store that i usually shop at has billboards up: 'tis the Seasonings. Its oddly funny, and pathetic. all in one little billboard.

so radio shack decided to stop asking for customer info. On account of this, a highly amusing link someone posted: Isn't that funny? The : is after the link. Oh wait, yeah the link's funny too.

So i need to hurry up and clean my room before I leave. I think I'll do this tomorrow. obviously no one has views on pictures anyway, so they can wait.

stupid actor's. even if they're not supposed to be actors. but something tells me someone who has one small part on law & order isn't living off acting quite yet.

Nottingham was great. He thinks everyone should go buy all of his products for christmas. sad I did most of my shopping already. now i can see if i can find a way to intern or something there in the spring. i have all these free time, it seems logical. i'll have to bring it up tomorrow on the way to our field trip

nothing else newsworthy to report. in the not newsworthy category it seems like it may snow tomorrow night into wednesday. that's only bad because of planes. but still annoying in theory. stupid snow getting in the way of snow stuff. though the airport is on the west side, so that's not big snow land. enough talk about snow. i have to getup and do the homework i was going to do for my group tonight tomorrow. funny how renting a game makes you play it more, knowing it has to go back at the end of the week. (or more actually tomorrow, since i bothered to think that i won't be here on saturday to return it)

Madonna, and pictures

So erin brought up an interesting (doesn't that word suck? i so need to find a better one) point about madonna becoming all amazing and british, and forgetting she grew up in detroit as some random brunette. is that the american dream? or is she just fake, and forgets.

i have some pictures of the MINI, i keep meaning to transfer them. I'll get around to it quickly. I'm tempted to make a separate gallery for them. if i do that of course, there's incentive to allow people from mini2 and the likes to see it. which of course could mean they'd actually see the blog, which isn't good. so i think i'm going to register another domain. then i can stick pictures on that one, and link off it from here, but not in reverse. good plan eh? any suggestions on domains? spittle, squeamish seem to be the two i was thinking of earlier. of course something mini themed, like frostedmini seems amusing (since its winning my license plate idea at the moment)

comments? someone needs to have views. (helen: perhaps you should have been in television production instead of theatre then... stupid industry changing. is toooooooooom actually doing anything productive?)

my room's still a mess. now it has bread crumbs in the mess. this isn't an improvement. the bread was good however.

sundays just aren't that interesting, so i think i'll have to end it while i'm ahead. its like soy sauce. you wish it was saltier, but too much salt and it'd be solid. (why do i think i'm the only one who thinks this? could it relate to drinking several liters of water a day, so always being hypo-osmotic?)

my neck hurts

I think i should go to sleep, since that's probably the easiest method of stopping it from hurting.

before i do that. i didn't ask mr. anesthesiologist if he had a huge scalpel in his bag, i didn't notice a bag at all. so i guess i could assume no, he didn't.

i forgot that there was something cool about law & order yesterday. (the NBC one) they were at a cafe, and had .5L FIJI bottles on the table. well at least the back of them. don't want to inadvertantly advertise, since you know the square bottles aren't known by most of the world.

my room's a mess again. i think i should hire someone to clean it. then i can avoid this annoying task. maybe the same person could do dishes? i think i'm decidely anti-domestic.

mitch says my car will end up having the most subtle modifications ever. i guess replacing lights to make them clear and adding a bit of chrome here is subtle. oh well. not like i don't think its amusing to do it anyway. i took some more random car pictures (generally boring) and some pictures of the peter b. lewis building, (vaguely interesting) i'll have them up sometime tomorrow. did i mention people who use their middle initials all the time are annoying? even if they gave 37.5 million for a building the new york times likened to popcorn.

i have nothing else to say. besides moo (my wrist rest saying hi i guess).

How to something

Well, So The presentations went well. I think the rest of the class is now jealous of our ability to BS. Since they seem to think we had this great project. Wahoo for that.

So I need to wash my hands more. When I went to target last week i got some more hand soap, figuring it was cheap. i was going to refill today, when i realized that the free pump that came with the refill was 15oz. that's how much the old refill was, which i think lasted 2 months. eek. the new real refil is 64oz. i guess i won't need to buy soap for a while.

i hate inkjet printers. i don't even have one, but the cool paper i got onsale is for inkjet. very annoying as i expected to use it.

fruit cake can be edible. at least in theory, the bakery stand at the market that i always go to had fruit cake. it looked odd, since it was on a huge sheet pan. it actually tasted good, mostly like a pile of fruity stuff. though it is still weird to eat green and red cherries, but you know, cherries are good.

i have done nothing else interesting today, which is sad, but hey, next week should be exciting.

so conan is tie shopping with izak mizrachi, who is wearing a bandana on his head. interesting fasion idea. conan just got one of his own.

nothing else to say. time for sleep. well more video games, then sleep. there's a schedule to things.

update, conan seems to have gone to everyone's (who has been there) favorite k-mart with izac in grenwich village. (they're discussing pants that come with belts, but point out shoes + undewear should also come with it so you don't have any decisions to make)

Rainy Days

So rain's generally fun. But i've noticed it has a small problem if it starts pouring. It always seems to encourage me to drive slower. This is positive. however, running water has its downside. Yeah that, which is counteracted by driving slower, not faster. very problematic.

I can't think of much exciting today, except that getting up really, really early was crappy. it was made even more crappy by realizing that's what time i'll regularly need to wakeup next semester. oh blech of blah. the anesthesiologist however was very useful, i guess he's busy enough he does more then put people to sleep.

i have exciting plans for tomorrow. mostly IT presentation. which basically means I'm done with work for that class except for the final. nice somethings generally work out, but i may be speaking prematurely since its not over. i'll have to check back on that tomorrow.

nothing else to speak of. erin says i type funny. go figure.

Must Eat Cookie

Actually I ate like two cookies yesterday. But old news is good news. So I have a meeting at 8:15 (AM!) with a Dr. tomorrow to discuss our BIOMEC project. He's an anesthesiologist (I think I even spelled that right), which is totally useless, and stupidly early, but I think we'll find it to be useful anyway.

I need to ponder what I'm going to do tomorrow after it, I think a nap sounds in order. In other news a nap sounds good now. I swore I had a whole pile of other things to discuss, but then fell out of my head. I guess I was standing on one foot and jumping with my head sideways. Go figure.

Oh, so anyway - On the subject of low rise mens jeans, I think maybe they look good, but they somehow look gay. similar i guess to men's flare jeans. I know there's a large market for that, but i dono. some things are odd. I did however realize they're probably not made in husky sizes. (unlike blaze orange vests).

I spilled soy sauce on my floor. I was annoyed. It got me sidetracked with my chair while i was cleaning. I have either an herman miller ergon, or ergon 2 chair. The ergon II's cost like $270 refurb'd at the moment. You may recall besides it being purple (the color with the dog picture is very off), it cost $2. I think that's a good pricing deal. I knew it was a nice chair, but I didn't realize it was that superific. I guess it explains why its compfy. I still may upgrade to an aeron when I actually get a job. I figure I'll try and talk to nottingham when he shows up on monday. It should be super exciting. And minus all these damn projects, classes keep getting cancelled left and right. that's always goodish news too.

My Elbow Itches

Well it does. Did you expect something more interesting? I'm thinking of starting a collection of the keychains I get when I take my car in for service. That way I can play them as lotto numbers, and win money to get more MINIs. Or get them to give away to needy friends.

So my car's half fixed, I can now open the sunroof and windows from the key/remote. Tres Cool, Tres Useless in November. I need to get the A/C blower fixed so my windows stop fogging up, but that will take 10 hours, and needs to be ordered. I complained to MINIUSA (People seem to think its odd I can just call the manufaturer, seems like a sane idea, especially for a damn expensive thing. If I can complain about a bag of $1.49 potato chips, why can't I ask questions about a $20K car?) Anyway, they said they'd reimburse me for a rental. Wahoo. Boo on not getting a Bimmer loaner though.

I didn't go meteorgazing. It was too damn cloudy, so I went to sleep early. I'll wait another 100 years, or move to arizona so I don't need to worry.

Shania Twain was on letterman. She seems to have decided blaze orange vests are fashionable. I didn't know midwestern deer hunters were the craze this year. I'm so out of it. I also don't see the appeal of low rise men's jeans. I've never met a female who thinks guy's stomachs should be hanging out above their pants. Or am I missing something?

I wrote my last IT case study in like 45 minutes. I'm not sure if this is because it was really easy since it was on web server attacks, or if Its really sucky. Plan B. is bad, since I only wrote it expecting to get better then the lowest of the 3 I've done. If I don't, it'll get dropped. bad. and a waste of time. double bad. triple bad if you're really looking.

I got some odd MINI stuff at the dealer today (amazing how that works after waiting 7 hours, but I did find a 24 hour diner, I guess that's positive). I took some pictures, feel free to browse as necessary. Anyway, time for sleep, I got up too damn early this morning. and now my knuckle itches, i'm not sure if that's worse then an elbow or not.

Meteors

Well I'm still scheduled to go see the meteors, which I found out could work well at the "polo fields" which is part of a park on the southeast side of town. we'll see how it works. I don't have much to say, except that i'm annoyed i have a 10:30 appointment to get the car looked at tomorrow, very bad planning.

i'll update after the meteors and such, but i didn't want to forget to paste something. see, if i paste it, you can eat it. and that's gross, you know but very juvenile.

Applesauce

It seems to be like baking bread, you make apple sauce, and everything smells appletastic. Its quite a good thing. Though it would be better if I could find an efficient way of peeling and coring the apples. I think I spent like 45 minutes preparing, and then 1 1/2 hours of simmering. I'd rather simmer for 3 hours and have less apple peeling to do. Maybe that foodmill idea is good. Anyway, now you all know that ugly apples with good flavour make awsome sauce.

I need to figure out where/how I'm going to go meteor watching tuesday morning. i figure since yet again I stayed up late, I'll probably just stay up monday night and then sleep tuesday during the day. I'll have to ask for a reccomendation on somewhere south to drive to to get rid of the lights. Handy NASA has a center here, so they give specific predictions for cleveland.

I didn't do any stat. i was worried i'd be bored tomorrow. isn't that good planning? while not doing stat I helped mitch with his, which is of course exactly the same as mine. go figure, all that work and i have zilch to show for it except inturrupting my game.

i think i'm finally tired. that and my finger hurts. i'm so out of shape from video game playing its pathetic. well not as pathetic as playing them, but you know, its legal and everything, so why should i care?

i think there's some vague combination of people being interested in strippers and the like and no especially good reason for it. i had a conversation with pepband dave randomly yesterday (i suppose its not amazing how he found out about this), but it doesn't seem to be especially straightforward. nor at the moment really worth looking into, beyond saying that its notable. that's enough for me. i need to ponder if i'm going to put cinamon in my applesauce or not. this is very critical to the cinamon lobby. the same people who made it so damn hard to spell that word.

Saturday + Samstag

Well, I realize things need to be cut, but you know I can still be sad. Besides, when book 4 comes out, its going to end up being like 3 movies worth. Harry potter, now in an 8 hour marathon version.

Mr. Stop Forgetting Me: No, the world quidditch championships weren't in II, they were in IV (part of the reason it was so long, since the summer was that much more exciting). I think you need to re-read if you've confused yourself. Not like college is worth paying attention to if you've got your potter messed up.

So I got takeout ribs from Tony Romas and rented a video game. it was a very exciting evening that I had planed to just amuse myself with. Ended up reefi and mitch stayed in, so we alternated playing. I think I rented turf wars. Its offroad racing/'contraband' smuggling. its fun. and obviously encouraged me to stay up as late as i did.

So I went to target, which got me sidetracked on visiting micro center. Where I spent $6, but took 10 minutes to check out, because they kept spelling my name wrong, and have to stalk me to know what I bought even though I paid in cash. (funny how my name matches my credit card, but my address is micro center's). Anyway, so I got some paper because it was cheap and i'm running low, which made me wonder why paper is $3/ream and toner is $75. blech. Also they had some wrist rests, and since mine's dying i looked at new ones. I figured i'd try an imak one, however they were $15. I noted they had odd print ones for $3. So now I have a cow rest. I'll see if i like it enough to either keep it and ignore the odd coloring, or get a new one that's sane.

I also got toothpaste at target. I noticed it has an expiration date. Something like 3/04, I'm not sure why breakfast cereal, which also has vitamins and such can last longer then toothpaste. disturbing, really.

anyway, so its time to ponder sunday. i can't figure out anything to do, so i think i'll just sleep on it. I tried to get a peeler + a food mill from target. they had a peeler, which doesn't really match anything, but is OXO, so I got it. no food mill. no spray paint either for my chrome sidevent endeavour. very sad, but i didn't feel motivated to go to walmart. i'll find an auto store sometime this week. i need to sleep, mostly because i'm getting hungry, and have yet to find a good diner to get breakfast at, so i should stop being awake before i'm really hungry.

Roasted Pine Needles

This has nothing to do with pine needles, but you need a title, so i managed. I don't feel the need to tell everyone val's a stripper, its just an easy descriptor, and people are interested in it, its news. I think. no one's ever said umm, yeah i don't care.

So I am confused about pot'eh II, I swore they went de-gnoming when he got over to the weasely's house. Am I wrong? or did this just get cut in a 2:41 movie? Otherwise it was quite good as expected. Except for the true 15 minutes of trailers + advertisements. (do i really need a queasy bake oven? everyone in the audience seemed to think it wasn't a real product)

I collected $1.75 in quarters today. That's nearly half a week's laundry. In one day. I'm so excited! I think I need a hobby besides collecting quarters and trying to spend other random change that's piled up on my desk.

I'm resolved to do something interesting tomorrow. I have some shopping errands to do, but something else interesting should happen. I've decided. I just need to figure out what.

I got muselix at the market. It was expensive (since i felt obligated to get the large box for twice as much instead of the small one with 1/3 the weight). I hope it'll be good. I don't have any raisins, so I need to have something cereal. or serial.

oh crud, I was going to say something else about food but I completely forgot. I guess I'll manage. I think sleep is in order if I can't synapse enough neurons to remember something for 30 seconds. I'll just deal with my ankle hurting.

Artifical Honey

So I went to KFC. I just noticed that they now have both "honey" and "butter" in ketchup type packets. very odd. they also don't have sporks. I'm not sure what our country is coming to with packets of margerine something and "High fructose corn syrup, honey, sugar, corn syrup, natural honey flavour, caramel colour". It actually tastes reasonably good (had to keep my krispy strips happy, even without krispy kreme) but still, its just odd. sporks too.

I've noticed everyone finds it amusing I have a stripper as a friend. even though she's technically a topless dancer. I dono, I guess the novelty has worn off. Since we are keeping track. She's aparently 5'2". This came up tonight, I didn't notice, I had estimated 5'5, mith had 5'4 reefi had 5'6". I guess heels do help make you taller.

So i forgot to mention i finally got my watch back. (nothing like fast service involving mailing cross country twice and sitting on someone's desk in quality control). I actually as i said got a different one. I still like it better then the one I had, so this is positive. it seems to have not fallen apart yet, so hey, 3 days and counting is good.

I know most of you read metafilter (you should!) but i just couldn't resist. who knew rock paper scissors had its own society and a website? boggling, really. but hey, if you give a million moneys typewriters, some of them will start playing "RPS" to decide who gets to type what i guess.

Time for sleepage, i need to keep up my energy to go to the market tomorrow, though i have no idea what i want. I've been stuck on a large (the mini ones are just wrong tasting) shredded wheat and copious raisins kick. i'll have to find something more interesting at the market. anyway, go pay your clevelandparkingtickets online, the tv just was telling you to do so. (there's a much better picture of the skyline, i wonder if anyone's parked wrong on it)

Potter + MINIS

So I parked next to a red cooper at the grocery store. it was exciting, in the parking next to a MINI genre.

The marketing prof commented that 'it'd be like measuring with a caliper and marking with a grease pencil' i thought that was funny, then i thought it was sad that i thought it was funny.

I was thinking of something more interesting, but as usual I ran out of it. I had lunch at the new falafel cafe that opened this week. It was good, though it was a wrap, not a stuffed pita. And it didn't have french fries shoved in it, like they're supposed to. they did have a cool pureed lentil + turkey soup. since i like lentils, i was impressed. though $3 for a bowl seems expensive. i dono if that's right. it had a cheap spoon, that annoyed me. it was like eating off a potato chip.

I didn't burn anything down. though i did remember i have a nice collection of phillips european matches in my bean jacket. i guess i'm prepared if necessary. anyway, time for bed.

Odd People

So I was driving in cleveland heights to get my hair cut, and since it was during the day, the obnoxious 20mph school zone sign was blinking. I slowed to a crawl (25, its hard to go below that), which caused a huge backup of people behind me. Then a cop pulls out a few cars in front of me. backup continues. Cop flips on lights and pulls over a random car. People then say eh, whatever, and speed up passing said cop. go figure on logic.

Whenever I get haircuts I seem to vaguely give an idea of what I want, and then get whatever they feel like doing. I'm glad I'm not especially attached to my hair, and it grows quickly to cover all flaws.

Mitch and Reefi were complaining about the kitchen phone. I pointed out mitch was the only one of us still living in the 18th century without a cell phone. (funny how I after 1 1/2 years with one can say this, but he doesn't know. haha) and thus he was the only one who actually uses that phone. I also pointed out if the phone was so awful, he or reefi could go to wal-mart, k-mart, target or william sonoma for all i cared and bought a perfectly different one. somehow i don't think this caused the anticipated response, he seemed to be confused.

so i watched craig because he had jill henessey on. its pretty boring, and he used coagulate to mean combine or concatenate. it was sad.

I can't think of much else. my evening was boring, this was sad, i guess i'll have to collect matches or something to play with tomorrow, it could certainly get more interesting to burn something down. i also need to start pre-planning to see harry potter on friday or sat. never know quite how that will work.

Mmm, Dust

So Robin Williams was on letterman. He claims you ingest so much dust in Afghanistan you fart bricks.

I lost my cinnamon sticks. This is sad, I'll have to go waste $1 on 2 more on friday. But I ran out of applesauce, so I guess I'll have to buy more apples so i have something to put cinnamon on. Funny how I bought it not thinking I had much of a use, now I miss it.

I think I may finally get a haircut tomorrow. Could be useful, I'm nearly starting to get a baby mullet. handy this is easily fixed. assuming i can remember where that barber guy i went to is...

So the green oranges (assuming they're not from grass clippings) aren't amazingly sweet. I think they're the types of oranges that get made into $.99/gallon juice.

If pomegranets didn't stain so damn much, i'd eat more of them. Or juice them. Stupid poorly designed fruit. Oh, and they cost like $1 or $1.50 each vs $.10 for a tangerine or $.25 for an orange.

ooh, conan has more analogies... (and its a repeat from august)
none funny yet. i hate postponing these. ok, they all stunk. I need to find something else to discuss. I ran out of things to discuss. I think i'll go attempt to juice an orange or 3 without a juicer. It could be fun. I'll bring napkins and papertowels.

Lameness

I think the cleveland PD needs to find something to do. Everytime I go out driving I see 3 or 4 cars with one headlight. Granted its in a city, so there's more cars, but umm? How do people drive like this and not get pulled over or yelled at?

I can't figure anything amazingingly interesting to say. I noticed the fan now only works at a relatively slow speed on my climate control. Handy I now have more broken things to deal with when I get my oil changed. I made apple sauce today. It was domestic, and came out well, though there's a pile of dishes in the kitchen, I guess it'll give me something to do on a monday morning. Like washing my car did on a sunday evening.

I'm not resorting to begging, but hey, people haven't left comments in days! this is pathetic. i'll beat you all with a empty bottle of eggnog. It says "Let it snow" on the label. Its very exciting really. But not relegious, I guess they're courting the jew market. And the agnostic atheistic kwanzaa loving market too. go figure. I've run out of things to say, and the hangnail on my right typing finger is annoying, so it needs rest too. thus i sadly have to stop. i have zilch planned for tomorrow, though i may go to band, since stat's cancelled! oh, we get to speak with the designer of the crest spinbrush in entrepreneurship. It should be fun. I've already been pre-assigned to do AV duty. I find it funny (and pointed this out when a professor said I was the best help money can't buy) that I pay for school, yet still have to play AV club, even though its just a simple touchscreen interface, I had never seen before. I guess I'm just umm, cooler then they are.

Empty

As a hermit's addressbook. As quoted by some random brit on "The Ship" its actually quite interesting, but this isn't surprising, it fits into my genre well.

So i raced a trio of motorcycles around a curve on the highway... very odd, (i kept up quite fine, i could have passed them, but they'd be pissed if i ran them over to do this) more amusingly, two of them had furry bikes. All of the sheetmetal was covered in fur. One was older, so it was shedding badly. very odd.

I keep meaning to take pictures of the skyline at night. i keep forgetting. i did however spend $1 at the dollar store, which got me a 4 wire phonecord. This is great news, since i finally (after like 4 different tries) got the remote display to work on the radar detector. so exciting! i guess i need to go on a road trip now, since there's none on the horizon.

Well, I don't want to post this until after midnight so it ends up on the right day. i'll just go back to watching the ship, and update as necessary until midnight. Oh, and look at british teeth. yech!. i dislike these british shows for that sort of reason.

Ok, its past midnight, I can post this, and go and watch alton brown make gravy.

E-Spittle

Well, so I have nothing to do tomorrow, but I think I'll manage. I'm sure something interesting will popup. Like popup video. or not.

Anyway, So I went to the market today, where I end up being confused as to what things are what. So I ask, like for instance, why is there $22/# salt? (Fleur De Sel, I've heard of it) Spice person (who also sells pasta) says she doesn't know, it tastes like salt, and wouldn't spend the money, however she's happy to sell it. I looked it up here And they seem to say its interesting stuff. Nothing like good honest opinions though.

I discussed with produce guy (fruit guy, I buy produce from other people, like the guy who had 1/4" thick asparagus spears, I was obligated to get them) about cantaloupes. He didn't even know how to tell if one was ripe! (you smell where the stem was attached, it should smell like a melon). Of course he also seemed to claim that the orange sunkist navels were just as good as the greenish/yellow ones. I'll see if he was right, maybe i'm just naive.

Upside of spice person, I did get whole nutmeg to go in my oh so seasonal eggnog. I didn't know if it'd grind well, so i got half an oz of ground and half an oz of whole. (she'll only sell in 1 oz increments). It worked fine on the random grater thing I had. I wish I had thought to get the microplane teeny one when I got my large microplane on super sale. how annoying. Anyway, I also got some cinamon sticks, because the apple sauce was boring. The nutmeg was quite nutmegy, so very successful.

I've nearly run out of things to say. Well Ok, I did. Except we should all feel sorry for Mitch, he bothered to clean his room and everything expecting Amanda to show up, and then she didn't. Major suckage, he even got flowers. (I cut a FIJI 1.5L bottle for a vase since I didn't have any voss around). with that sad note, I think i'll go to sleep so I can have a happy saturday. it should be fun you know. besides maybe finally possible getting my car washed.

hiccough

I love that word. Anyway, I added some more pictures. So I figured I'd point this out. I'm not sure what else is happening tonight, so I'll deal with that later.

Thursdaydom.

Well I guess I'll respond to all of my exciting comments.

I guess I shall take a picture of the cup. I'll do it tomorrow If I remember. Need to schedule these things during the day otherwise it looks horrible. You might be able to just see it here in any event.

I didn't bring any food, since I'm not big on chipmunking food to places. So I just sort of ended up being hungry. I'll live.

I think If i can have a car based on the 60's, sneakers from the 80's, and a new watch made of titanium (I guess that's 90's or '00's) my glasses can fall somewhere in the middle. Though I do hope they don't break, that'd be decidely annoying.

I need to sort out something to do on friday, but oh well. Pierce Brosan just said on Larry King 'hally and I got on very well' and he was somehow talking about her personality. Go figure. I just noticed my glasses are cooler then larry's. Mine have plastic temples. Much better so I don't eat through the metal ones like on his.

There was a pile of other random things I meant to put in here. I think I may have to get a PDA to keep track of them, which in itself is just lame. So I'll go to sleep now.

*Yawn*

Well, Its sorta late. So I'm tired.

I did however, finally get my MINI mug today. It included a card apologizing for the front cupholders being too small to be useful, so they sent everyone a free travel mug that does fit. (Stainless (I think..) with orange plastic lining, I could take a picture if it was really necessary).

A certain person who shall remain nameless, but lives in lakewood thinks I'm an engima. This related to leaving lakewood at 11, and deciding to go shopping afterward. It was entirely on the way home, and then I didn't need to find time to do it tomorrow. I had to stay until 11 because law and order was on. Important you know. Besides, then I got to go to a giant eagle of ghetto wegs vintage. Although it was much nicer. Though I still took several trips to find raisins, and found out that even though they were on sale, strawberry filled miniwheats taste mediocre. I had missed shopping in the middle of the night. Its so much more peaceful. All of this being popular gets in the way of random 3am shopping.

So in the name of clean adult fun. here handy everyone's above 18, so they can't complain this was umm, indecent. Yeah. (courtesy of chl who got it somewhere, someplace, yadda)

I have a mild headache, so i think its time to go to sleep. Ohh, Adam im'd me to say the springsteen concert's postponed until dec 16th. How sad. I don't even know If I/He will go then. I wasn't hugely looking forward to it, but it was going to be fun. I guess I can spend the money from tickets on something fun this weekend. Any suggestions?

I got a copy of my damn stupid schedule for next semester. 8:30-9:45 class MW, 9-11:30 T, and 4:15-8:30 MW (with 30 min break in the middle). Handy I have no thursday or friday classes, but I think this means more blechy trips to subway to get food in 30 minutes. Though I didn't eat today after lunch and was starving through most of west wing, but then forgot about it during law and order. Odd how that works, so maybe i should just ignore food.

Maybe I'll just go to sleep. Better plan.

Election. Bah.

Well So I'm a bit miffed at the preponderance of republicans elected, but not like I have control over this, so I'll deal.

So i was getting gas over in lakewood, and for whatever dumb reason (this seems to be getting common) I couldn't get my credit card to work in the pump. so i gave up and figured i'd pay inside. Of course they asked which I was, I said I didn't know. They said $26 or $18, I looked puzzled, but was so out of it, (I still price gas by regular, at $1.46, even though I buy premium, so its all confusing and really irrelevant). Fortunately I deduced that the guy in front of me, who had an explorer, bought more gas then I did. He said oh yeah, the $26 is mine. Handily this solved the problem, which of course shouldn't be a problem. But eh, I guess he wasn't buying premium, so it wasn't a fair comparison. The cashier commented she'd never buy a truck, too expensive, he said yeah, about $26 a week. I said well, you really only save $8 since I was spending $18.

I can't think of anything else amazingly interesting. Oh, so someone pestered me in traffic to ask about the car, i told him who made it, etc. odd it still keeps happening. nothing else good to report. i think i'll go grocery shopping tomorrow. this isn't very exciting, but then i can get that cereal and the cups i wanted. oh, and i decided i won't do the writeup for IT tomorrow, because its a dumb case, and I can't do well on it, so I'll deal, Hopefully I did well on the 2nd case, and then I can deal with #5 or #6, and I'll have good grades for the required 3/6 that are graded.

Glasses!

So my new glasses arrived. You can all look at some mediocre pictures of them in the pictures section. Then leave comments. Because we're behind on comment land anyway.

I saw two really amusing license plates today parked in front of peter b. lewis. 'CHL 1' (aparently chris isn't the only chl) and even better 'Muggles'

Not much else happening. Adam's thrilled because Erin decided to go to the springsteen concert on saturday. fills up exactly one cooper. how handy. (we'll fight blue vs red later)

Oh, watch update. I got a call from blue nile, my watch is finally getting sent back to skagen (i guess it was so uniquely broken they wanted to do that) anyway, so my watch isn't in stock anymore, so i picked out a new one, which is basically the same, but is titanium, and has 12 and 6 markings, as you can see

Time for bed. I need to get sleep before I do laundry. I think i'll go shop at the store too, I need more raisins and shredded wheat and plastic cups.

EDIT:
So i was drinking my chocolate milk, which brought up the idea that if i drank out of cocktail stirrers i'd drink less. this would also give me a huge headache all the time. (i have several thousand stirrers from a random whim, they're useful for stirring chocolate and strawberry milk as well as iced tea)

This subject of glasses, and dave calling and giving me a suggestion of riedel dessert wine glasses as a present brought me to thinking. I'm inclined to get some water glasses. riedel seems to have them, but i'd like to know more about. like if they're really designed like the rest of their glasses to improve the taste, or if they're just visual to match with the wine glass on the table. doesn't seem too expensive or extravagant to get them, just quirky, but i like being quirky about water.

Actually

I couldn't think of a better title then actually. So the dumb church that's several corners away has this on their sign "Vote is a 4 letter word, handle with prayer" I have no idea what that means. I wonder if anyone does.

I think its odd that I drive by jacobs field and gund arena on my way to go fruit shopping, (the front entrance, street level). Somehow professional sports are supposed to be distant and special, not on the way to get apples.

I was happy I managed to be going 15 over the limit and went 55 blocks without hitting a traffic light. Very weird, but at least it was fun.

Oh hugs, yeah, Actually, I was never big on hugs from ugly men either since we're ading more rules to this endeavour. But yeah, life's not always simple sometimes. Actually it seems rarely simple for me, except that it tends to involve way too much blue. I noticed my wardrobe, especially winter has a preponderance of blue, which goes with blue jeans, and my blue sneakers. I guess i overreacted to the past few years of too much green. I should just wear jackets more and that would cover it up.

Anyway, its monday tomorrow, so i have to go to sleep so i can wakeup and do the homework that i postponed. yeah well, procrastination is fun, otherwise i'd have nothing to do on mondays.

Sugar. Its sweet

Well so I had a splendiferous evening playing scattergories with erin mitch and reefi (i won too!). Other then that, a generally uneventful night. i did notice it was november 3rd now, i'm not sure if this is news because something like chicken is expiring in the fridge as i speak or if that's just randomly interesting.

I completely missed amanda's friends except for seeing them in the parking lot when she showed up. i guess cleaning was worth it anyway for other visitors.

I think i'll start a crusade to get more hugs. that way the hugging industry will be happy, (not the chocolate ones!) and i'll get more hugs. (for circular logic). Seems to be a good tradeoff for everyone involved.

So i was driving down carnegie, and found it highly amusing that the truck next to me which kept running red lights I would always (like 3 times) get right next to him at the next light or the one after that. shows you crime doesn't pay doesn't it?

ok, time for sleep, i'll go dream of hugs.

Various Fridays

I believe Mike does have cookies enabled, he just has a non-standard browser fetish, so nothing ever works, then he gets defensive and says everything's programmed wrong, and 99.999999% of websites work fine for him. And I did clean without roommate poking, though Mitch seemed to appreciate it, the main poking was females showing up. It seemed to work well enough.

So Erin said I could mention her in here. Look, I just did!

I was driving around and see the oddest cars. First I was in the far right lane, which makes it more fun, since A. its oddly small, and B. you spend most of the time jumping over potholes and manholes. (personholes? i dono if cleveland's PC). secondly, I see this great truck with a tailpipe still with the tag on it. Amusing in itself, but then the guy stops next to me at a light. He's got a mullet!. This was only matched by the debadged WRX wagon that i saw later on with the STI logo and the MOMO sticker on the side. amazing! Also liked the 'I backed into a pole' dent mid-hatch on the back. And fyi, all WRX's come with MOMO steering wheels, its not like he even upgraded it. how sad.

So random females show up tomorrow, I guess I should get some sleep before then. It could be mildy interesting, and considering I cleaned a bit for them, I should take advantage. Amanda thinks the sheep are amazingly cute though, so that's a perk. We'll see if she cons Mitch into buying some for her.

Time for bed stuff. Must catchup on excessive amounts of sleep. Last night was too short. But I did get a whole pile of fruit amogst other stuff (moldy cheese for instance... note to self, do not buy cheese from cheese place in future.) I love when I can get a pineapple for $2, 10 tangerines for $1, a pomegranate (had to get one since i mentioned that article) for $1.50, and some other random stuff, lettuce, asparagus, and apples. yay produce that is good looking and reasonably cheap. umm, ok. I can go to bed now, i finished talking about fruits. (amanda says lakewood has a large gay community... i feel informed, but am sure i would have noticed this if it was hugely large)

EDIT: I have a CD of the last band concert, is anyone interested in me ripping all/some (its about 30 min of us playing) of it? We have First Suite in F by George, George Washington Bridge by Schumann, Gumsucker's March by Grainger and Slava by Bernstein. Let me know...

Happy november

I miss using pine, I never get those cool monthly reminders to reorganize my email. Its sad. But on the upside, eh, its november.

So I was at the coop today to get some sauce for the tortellini, (not very exciting really) and some woman with some foreign accent asked me how many days were in november. I mentally did the whole 30 days thing and said umm, 30. She said are you sure, I said umm, yeah. then she went off to continue looking at something or other in the dairy/random refridgerated vitamins section. go figure, but very weird.

so today was fun, band was fun, the usual stuff. we'll hope tomorrow is fun. and everything's clean, that's a nice change. i'm thinking the usual friday market trip could be fun. maybe i'll do something else after it. ok, i'll quit writing this is getting boring and nothing else is happening. oh i smell like smoke from going to jillians with mitch. it was dead, but damn people next to us were smoking. I'm thinking i'll market a vomit scented air freshener. Then whenever people next to me start smoking, i can just set it out. its 'free air' you know. i can pollute it just like they can.

Edit. So this article from the times is talking about an ultra-orthodox farm, north of amherst ma (isn't that like aaron's house?) but hey, this is important: (Cows will be milked by gentiles on Saturdays because the Talmud forbids Jews from milking on the Sabbath, but the Lubavitchers do not want unmilked cows to be in pain.) Isn't that thoughtful, make the goy's do the milking, because you know, it'd be painful to the cows.
