So a few weeks ago, (which I think I've said something since then, but I probably forgot at the spur of the moment) I tried the famous salt potatoes from Wegs. I had oddly never tried them before, then read an article (I think it was a nytimes 36 hours in... ) saying they were one of the noteworthy items Wegs sold. In any case, they're actually quite good. They're baby white potatoes, that you cook in boiling really, really salty water (like 5 lbs of potatoes comes with a bag of a cup of salt). You then serve them warm with butter. Quite tasty, and they only take like 30 minutes to cook, once you boil the water. I'd reccomend them.
I need to decide if I want to get a new car or not. Not that there's anything wrong (besides 'quirky' squeaks and rattles) with mine, but its almost at 50k which is warranty expiration time, and fixing it could get really expensive really quick. And did I mention there's a new model out for '07, which has new cool features, and an engine that gets better milage? I need to decide, I may end up waiting until Jan, I think the plan is to unveil the new ones in Detroit - but of course the whole buying a 1st year model thing (again...) may detract. I'll keep everyone updated.
With the new year coming up (or started as I write this) (eat some apples and honey everyone, aparently with all the rain this summer, there's tons of apples) I'm starting to ponder winter type things. Like gifts. I'm trying to be early at least in thinking about this, even if I may end up buying everything with overnight shipping (amazon prime is cool, but not necessarily worth paying for beyond the free trial I think). I think I need to be specific. I've had bad luck with the 'jewelry' or the 'food' or the 'trip' kind of category without thinking it through. Maybe some early mall browsing and/or roadtrips in October might be good to get me thinking in advance. Of course check back in December to see what I actually ended up doing.
Speaking of cars, has anyone actually driven a new Charger? With some connections, that may be an option for another car (I keep pondering maybe we should have more cars, to cut down on the milage put on each one, especially if we can buy them at a discount). They look kinda cool, but as we know, looks can be the least important part - especially since they're not very old, so they too could fall apart and be a horrible investment.
Anyway, about it from this end. Or middle for that matter.
