Well, its not the most exciting day of the year, but it shouldn't be too bad. I keep hoping that the plans for squishing 90 (usually 4 lanes in each direction) further down from the 3 it has been for the past 2 months to 2 lanes isn't going to make my drive to work horribly annoying for the next two weeks. We'll see, but its supposed to happen sometime very soon. If I'm grumpy and late to work, everyone should know why.
For some reason, I stayed up and watched the emmys last night. I don't know if the point of that was to deprive myself of sleep, but in some odd way it seems to have succeeded, though it was entertaining. Sometimes I wonder why I don't just fall asleep when I should. With that logic though, I'd probably want 10 hours of sleep every day, which would be problematic.
Oh right, cameras. I don't want an SLR camera. They're huge. Besides, I think they're best used as a second camera to a small one. Which is what I want. I was thinking of the everyone has one and likes it Elph. Though which one is a different discussion, but mostly a financial one.
Proded by stryder at September 20, 2004 06:47 AMI like my elph, but I don't think I'd buy another one. The camera takes to long to focus and take the picture so things that are moving are always blurry, it really needs to be resting on something solid to use for closeups or the act of pressing the shutter button gives the picture motion blur. It is however very good at just random snapshots, panoramas, and anything sitting still.

except I'm actually borrowing an identical S230 digi-elph because mine died for no good reason. I'm going to look at something similar in size but weather/water resistant once I can think about affording such things.
Posted by: Mike on September 20, 2004 06:20 PMOh yeah. I forgot to mention that my S400 died and took 2 months for canon to fix it.
Posted by: dave on September 21, 2004 11:41 AMMy expirience with Canon service was pretty good - when my ZR10 miniDV camcorder died under warrenty I had it back in a bit over a week (new chassis, tape mechanism and main board, IIRC). Of course now I have two of two Canon imaging products dead and out-of-warrenty (E18 error on the S230, jammed tape loader on the ZR10). But I really did like them a lot before the died.....
